It made sense to release more Special Saloon Anglias as we aren't all daft enough to spend a hundred quid on a limited edition.
...I modified a 3D file and printed my own version but this new release from Scalextric should be popular.
Baby Bertha must surely be on the to-be-released list now... followed by a few other Special Saloons & ModSports

Absolutely agree Kevan
That could lead to all sorts of oddities. Chevy V8 powered Morris Minor anyone....

50 cars this year.
I remember one year they released 86.
How things change.

A total of seven rally cars plus a set, which surprises me.
I didn't expect so much attention to the rally theme.
As a rally fan I'm really happy with it.

And your point is? I remember a year when there were only 12 cars in the whole range with just 2 new ones. I would suggest they have come a long way since then. For someone who says he is not in competition with Scalextric you seem to expend a considerable amount of effort running them down.

Hello Hub
As soon as I saw the new releases I thought..... that will please the master of scenic rally layouts
Do you know if any manufacturer has done an Andrews Heat for Hire livery before?
I seem to remember an SCX model, Talbot Sunbeam Lotus? Or am I making that up!

Hi Pip,
I am indeed very pleased with all these unexpected new Scalextric rally cars and the Andrews Heat for Hire Sierra in particular.
SCX did not only an Andrews Heat for Hire Talbot Sunbeam Lotus, but also an Escort MK2 (second RAC Rally 1979).
Avant Slot made the winning 1987 Welsh Rally Manta 400 of Russell Brookes and the 1986 RAC Rally Manta 400 (d.n.f. caused by engine problems)

Hi Hub,
Thank you for the clarification
So I wasn't making up the Talbot Sunbeam Lotus, that's reassuring!
Must have missed the SCX Ford Escort...... Russell Brookes ( we have the same surname) was a real favourite of mine, competitive in anything, and always good to watch.

Did anyone else hear Simon say they’re looking forward to producing more Russell Brookes cars? Or was I just dreaming…
