Cars you have bought in 2025

With all this talk of Targa Florio proxies and Christmas specials, I had to bid on this and got it for a good price.

Well I thought I would'nt..... and then I could not help myself and sucummed to yet another Pan Americana Road Race Car, but this time a new one.

And with my PSR Coupons I had saved up, made it affordable.

So would it remain on the shelf, not likely  Bigsmile

I run it with and without magnets, and without you definitely need some added ballast, but it does run fairly well. I never owned a Top Slot RTR model before, but althought the resin body is heavy the weight distribution of it is interesting with most of the weight seemingly biased towards the bottom half of the body, the sills and inside wheel arches seem to carry much of the weight. So with the Scaleauto 20K slimline motor and powertrain it run remarkable well. The tyres were good also and offer good grip.
I compared it against my Ninco based Corvette with 3d chassis and Predator18K rpm motor and it ran with very similar lap times for a model which was significantly heavier. The Scaleauto chassis is also very low, as it is making a track clearance of only ~1.3mm.

But a nice realistic scale looking model.

The other pre Christmas spend was on the new Scaleauto Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 1973'ish white kit.

Rediculously wide at 65mm across rear wheel arches, it will be difficult to find a competition permitting this beast. But even without tuning this car was on the very..very fast level. Probably will have to be run it in a series of similar over scale cars of the period, perhaps I will have to leave this one on the shelf until they release other stable mates.

It’s close to the width of the Revoslots 934 I believe.

Another Porsche…

This one to prepare for the ‘Sebring Seventies’ team race at our new WHO American SpeedFest Saturday event in February.

The Scaleauto 911 Carrera kit is over 2mm wider than the Revoslot 934, and the “older” Scalextric 911 Carrera, not sure about the newer Scalextric Porsche version.

The length and wheelbase of the Scaleauto  is relatively short for its width, giving it a rather unnaturally look in my opinion. Like a fat square version. Shame really, I am sure a better result could have been achieved even with the AW long can motor.

Is this Scaleauto... the new NSR on the block?

Their 1/24th Grand Prix cars are ruined by the ridiculous small diameter, wide tyres and track width... lovely bodyshells though.

At least with these cars you can presumably change the wheels and tyres ? It’s a bit different if the basic body shell is wrong.

I love the Talbort GP car, and trying hard to resist buying one, as I kind of given up on 1/24th scale cars due to lack of participation by my local clubs. But I do have a Carrera track which should suit the model.

Apart from the usual cars I've also bought a nice avant Slot Ferrari with a 3D printed chassis and a SRC M3 motor.
