I need to get this monkey off my back, for far too long I've put off making a brass chassis for a Mini that's not inline.
So decided to make a new one rather than modify a current inline one.
This will be a first for me, slimline anglewinder with the added restriction of 50mm max width across the tyres (our club rules for small cars allows 54mm).
This is the bare bones so far with some decisions to be made regarding mounting the motor and side pans.

I like the idea of epoxy for the motor mounting and have to admit I'd overlooked this idea, thanks bud

It's a roller... and a nice smooth runner.
5 minute epoxy isn't 5 minute epoxy after a few years, it goes off...this was more like overnight epoxy so I had to glue a couple of extra braces to secure the motor which has spoiled it a bit as I hate bodging
...but the epoxy is set this morning

I would scratch the word "Minute" out and write the word "hour" in its place on those old epoxy bottles.
You deserve some new epoxy for yourself, man.

Using it reminded me why it's not been used for so long...'orrid sticky stuff that doesn't just wipe off your hands or other surfaces it might accidentally touch...

One needs to be extra careful not to contaminate the fingers.
I've always have a fresh block of scrap wood nearby just to wipe my finger should I screw things up. You can't use a cloth. If I get a dab of epoxy on a freshly paint body, I swear in up to seven different languages. Six of which I invented myself!
But when it works right...
