Round 2 – National Policar Championship 2024 -Saturday 5th October

Entries are invited for the second round of the National Standard Policar Championship, run on our 104 foot , 4 lane, Policar track, track has full Race Co-ordinator software, permanently located, the Policar track is very flat, no bumps ! Lap times about 8.5 secs with Policars.

There is plenty of space in the clubroom and it has excellent heating and lighting. There is wheelchair access to the building and track. There are cafe's on site. Parking is adjacent to the venue

The format will be four heats , (four minutes on each lane) with all results to count, the total laps completed will provide the qualification order for step up finals of 5 minutes each. The two fastest from each final will step up.

We will open doors at 8.00am to start practice , with heats commencing at 12, so plenty of time to learn the track.

Entry fee £10.00 Trophies for the top 3 finishers. Free tea & coffee & biscuits.

There will be a non-championship Wales & West round for NSR classics and Open GT3 on the following day, with at least 2 hours practice at the end on the policar meeting on the Saturday. See separate post.



Rules Policar Classic Grand Prix – Ready-to-Run Cars (Thanks to the CSCRA web site)

This class is inspired, and based upon, the Policar GP event at the Slot Car Festival.

Eligible Cars.

Lotus 72

March 701

Ferrari 312B2

BRM P160 & P153

The Ferrari 126C2 IS NOT eligible for the standard class

Liveries.

Cars may race in the original Policar liveries or may be repainted if desired.

Any repaints/white kits must be painted in a genuine livery as used on the real car in a Formula

1 race.

Body shell.

Must be original Policar, be as complete as possible and include suspension detail etc.

Body shells may be modified to represent alternative versions of the car at other races.

Front and Rear wings must be securely attached to the car at the start of every race.

Parts may be glued in place as desired.

(We understand that small parts, such as mirrors, can get knocked of during practice and racing

and will not insist on these items being replaced during the event).

Chassis & Motor pod.

These items must be genuine Policar parts and must not be modified or have parts removed.

MINOR scraping or sanding of the chassis/motor pod edges, to allow for body float, will be

allowed.

Chassis and body screws may be loose or removed as desired but please ensure that any loose

screws cannot fall out during races.

All screws are free choice.

Grub screws may be fitted in the holes provided at the front of the chassis to set the front axle

height.

Motor.

Must be an original Policar FF050 slim can motor of the same specification as that supplied with

the car. Part no’s PMX01 or PMX01-k.

Gears & Rear Axle.

All gears and the rear axle must be genuine Policar parts to the same specification as supplied

with the car.

Only the standard 17 tooth final drive gear/rear axle may be used, the optional final drive gear

ratios may not be used for the standard class.

Wheels & Tyres.

Front wheels must be the original Poilcar plastic wheels – Part no PW13807921P.

Front tyres must be original Policar tyres.

a. Treaded tyres – Part no PPT1220C1

b. Slick tyres – Part no PPT1354C1.

Front track width must remain standard.

Front tyres may be glued and trued if desired.

Coating of the front tyres is not permitted for the standard class.

Rear wheels must be one of the following:

1. The original Policar plastic wheels as supplied with the car;

a. Part no PW16011724P – 16mm wheels.

b. Part no PW13813519P – 13.8mm wheels.

2. Policar Aluminium Wheels;

a. Part no PW16011724A – for the early cars with 16mm wheels

b. Part no PW13813519A – for the later cars with 13.8mm wheels.

Rear tyres must be one of the following:

1. The original Policar tyres as supplied with the car.

a. Treaded tyres – Part no PPT1219C1 for 16mm wheels.

b. Slick tyres – Part no PPT1370C1 for 16mm wheels.

c. Slick tyres – Part no PPT1224C1 for 13.8mm wheels.

2. Policar F22 slicks – Part no PPT1219F22 for 16mm wheels.

3. Policar G25 slicks

a. Part no PPT1310G25 for 16mm wheels

b. Part no PPT1224G25 for 13.8mm wheels.

Overall width measured over the rear wheels and tyres must not exceed 65mm.

Rear tyres may be glued and trued if desired.

Rear tyres must be dry whenever the car is placed on the track and any cleaning fluid /

treatment used on the tyres must not leave any residue on the track.

All Wheels must have the correct inserts for the car fitted.

Guide.

Must be a genuine Policar guide to the same specification as supplied with any of the eligible

cars. Braids & Lead Wire are free choice.

Additional Weight.

Weight may be added inside the car only.

No weight will be allowed underneath the chassis and any added weight must not be visible

outside the car
