Best Motorsport TV package?
#1

Not interested in 'open wheel' or Nascar though.

All closed wheel - saloons, sports, GT particularly historic motorsport. Aussie V8's, BTCC, Goodwood, Silverstone and Classic Le Mans. That sort of thing.

Is there such an offering in the UK?

+1 for YouTube - for me it’s on TV via Amazon Fire TV stick (Black Friday deals from £24.99)…
  • All the global GT series live, including British GT
  • Goodwood FoS & Revival live
  • Dozens of UK club series either live or highlights, including Formula Ford Festival and some historics
  • WEC reruns and highlights
BTCC package - including Legends - is live on ITV app.

Le Mans is a one-off payment on WEC or EuroSport apps - about £10 for the whole week of practice, qualy and the race.

Plus other apps available on Fire TV eg WRC, Motorsport UK, Red Bull (extended WRC highlights etc).

Do you have Sky? Eurosport is included in the basic package and shows Endurance racing. Sportystuff TV is on Freeview and Sky, it shows various Motorsports, including British truck racing but scheduling is a bit hit and miss. ViaPlay (subscription only on Sky, Virgin and Prime) shows all three NASCAR series live, DTM and Aussie V8 highlights.

BTCC, Goodwood, Silverstone are shown on terrestrial TV anyway. Anything else, as Kevan says, YouTube is your friend.

Just have Freeview at the moment but fed up with constant interference and the need to retune.

Hmm? Can't get 271 - or at least, we can but it's something called Channelbox. Whipped through the onscreen menu and it's nothing to do with sport of any kind!

Smart TV? You mean the one that feeds off all your watching habits?

Don't have such a thing.

Had great fun watching my son try to persuade his Smart voice controlled TV to show information about Boudica.

Could it? Could it heck. He gave up in the end and I looked up the programme in our paper TV guide when I got home  Bigsmile
