I've printed pods of all kinds in the past but never really happy with them, especially SW where space is limited.
I've revisited my FC130 inline pod, tweaked it a fair bit and printed one in the same resin I use for bodyshells.
I've done pods for bronze bushings, ball races and SlotIt spherical bushings - all adjustable height.
This one is for spherical bushings, adjustable height motor and axle.
I've ditched a couple of features my pods used to have, one of which was a built in centre pivot.
I've not printed a pod for months but a few builds recently need an IL pod so I thought...why not, let's try it again...and I like it!

I've got you to thank for the adjustable axle height Alexis
It's in the Ferrari 250 GTO/64 now.

Kevan ... im curious
is the adjustable rear axle height feature on those pods used to simply create a better gear mesh ?
or are you able to adjust both the axle and motor heights ?
if so how do you adjust the motor ?
how do you secure the motor when you have finished adjusting ?
or am i reading this wrong completely ?
love the concept ( if im seeing right ) you should be able to set the perfect ride height on any size trued tyres
also adjustment on both front and rear axles could remove any slight chassis problems not solved in the usual ways

For motors with m2 fixing holes the pod has oval slots to move the motor about 1mm vertically but 99% of the time you'd fix it a low as possible.
The axle has about 1.5mm movement which comes in handy when you want to lose some ground clearance but don't want to grind your tyres down. Also once tyre wear reaches the point you need more ground clearance you can lower the axle.
I don't buy special offset crowns, they soon bed in.
I changed this pod to accept S-cans and short cans (FC130 & Fk130)
I'll modify the file for long cans and slimline motors.

yep , makes sense now
nice idea , especially to accommodate the spherical bushings
i thought about modifying my own 3d pods to receive s-cans but found these instead :-
FC-130 to FK-180 Motor Adapter by Shadow_Rusty - Thingiverse
Alan Wilkinson mentioned them on Gregs zoom
they work a treat , no more mods .... except for a slimline obviously
but then maybe someone will come up with a design for an adaptor for those also

If you use big (>26z) gears you can go down to 2,5 mm offset,i have used it at Wolves several years ago with no problems.

I made an adaptor sleeve for a slimline motor to go in a long can pod. A slimline motor is longer than a short can so won't fit a short motor pod.

I don't actually know, my guess is 1.5mm but I'll fire up the CAD and measure...
