Merit 1/24 Lago-Talbot 4 1/2 litre
#11

Here are 3 I am working on at the moment and a couple I finished.

I have also done a Maserati 250F, a couple of D50s a Vanwall and an Indy car. I have a Connaught, BRM P25 and Mercedes W196 on the list to do. I have also ventured into 3D printed bodies - I have a Lancia D50 with separate side tanks, and ERA Romulus, a Ferrari 555 and a Bugatti T251 to do

I use Penelope Pitlane chassis and Pendleslot Vintage 23" wheels.
The tyres are my own make. They are copied from a Carrera 1/24 Jaguar E Type
The driver figures are from Immense Miniatures.

I have gone with a rear motor mount and half driver figure. Too much mucking around to get a front motor in and included the kit motor. I did contemplate making a mid engine so the driver could sit in the car a bit more but in the end the overall look is fine for me.

Thanks.

Following Munter's post, I started to look at the PP chassis offerings. I see that they come in hundreds of sizes, so I presume I need to establish the wheelbase of my model, the body width available, and the motor position. So your post has reinforced that direction for me, and the information on your wheels is also very useful.

I have to try and build it in my head first before starting on the real thing, so all this information has got the virtual build started!

The Penelope Pitlane F1RL Chassis Kit - Vintage
is what I usually buy. Though I use a 16k motor rather than a 20k

If you want to get the chassis separate then it is the F1RL chassis that fits the best. If you want to use a slim can FF050 motor then use PP-SM1L If you want to go front motored I don't think there is an option that has a long enough wheelbase. Wheelbase on the Talbot is

The photo etch inserts are listed as out of stock but contact Pendleslot about them as you can still get them.

I glued it together then cut hole for chassis ,had to grind the sides of the sump of the model motor to fit in between the Toko Plamo chassis and I made a motor mounts for the Scalextric motor mounted sideways .
Cheers,
John.
