Currently WIP on my bench, are a friends 2 Fly M.A.N. Trucks.
Brief: to make a pair of evenly matched nice runners on a routed + copper tape track.
They came complete with out of round wheels and a chassis more flexible around the motor and rear axle than a warm piece of toffee.
One came supplied with a motor revving at 15k rpm, and the other producing 24.5k rpm, so these have been put in the spares box and 2 NC5's that produce 17.4k at 12v have been removed from the spares box to balance the pair out.
I have drilled holes to fix the motor with motor screws, braced the rear with brass square rod and piano wire and epoxied that all in along with the motors. Now we have a nice rigid back end (stop giggling at the back !).
Dry fitting Pics before epoxy:
Alloy wheels, tyres, new gears, pinions and guides have been purchased to complete the project, next job will be fitting as much weight as I can in the narrow chassis to balance that tall heavy cab !
