I found this the other night, a classic tale of the old saloons. American heavy metal, full of grunt and great on the straights, versus British lightweights, faster round the corners.
A 5.7 litre Chevrolet Camaro, an Escort 1600RS, and a 2.5 litre Vauxhall Viva all nose to tail , for the whole race, at Cryatal Palace in 1971.

So much to choose from - and that Crystal Palace race would be on my list too.
Here's the 1965 Riverside 500...
I recommend watching it to the end

Literally great videos, especially the USA based events. Although we could buy slot-car models of the entries, background information was not easily found in the UK. When Jim Clark and peers started to enter events in the USA that provided some insight. The mysterious-ness of circuits like Riverside and Laguna Seca stirred my imagination.
