TruSpeed with Carrera Evolution
#1

Hi , hope someone can help me, I am looking to upgrade to a truSpeed controller but am unsure on the wiring , the controller has three wire , plus ,minus and brake, I have the  new style evolution ( red controller plugs ) and they have  just has two wire controllers ? how would I be able to make it work?

The best advice would be to contact Steve at Truspeed.

The Carrera powerbase is - I think - negatively wired like the other home racing systems (Scalextric, Ninco, Policar etc). I’m pretty sure the sockets on the Carrera powerbase still have three pins and Carrera-compatible three-pin controller plugs are available from DS (item number 0091).

Hi Andy, I have contacted Steve his advice was to seek someone to help me who knows about electrics, Carrera evo has changed , it no longer uses the three pin set up, now it has moved to an electronic controller with just two wires , hence I don't see an after market controller playing nicely with it .

If the new Evolution powerbase/controller set-up is anything like the latest Carrera Go!! and Go+ then, yes, they've gone with a system that isn't compatible with even a standard off-the-shelf resistor controller.

Perhaps grab an older Evolution powerbase with the 3-pin sockets?

Or solder up a standard straight with the preferred club controller hook-ups for your part of the world? For the UK it would be this: https://slotracer.online/community/showt...p?tid=2082

I'm with Andy. You have a club quality controller. Time to move up to club quality power and controller connectors. Follow his link and never look back. :)

This might be of interest for you, they are a direct replacement, the only thing I don't see specifically is the ones you mention Carrera-D VI Controller for Carrera Digital Slot Cars
