Hi Guys,
I was stunned to receive a Scalextric set when I was just 8 years old. My dear old Mum, bless her, spent a King's ransom on a second hand Scalextric set for my birthday. It had a green BRM and a similar looking yellow car, rubber track and nasty clips to hold the track pieces together. Only my older brother had strong enough fingers to push the clips onto the rubber track and make it all work properly. The smell of the controllers and the was they slowly heated up until they could not be held any longer still lives on in my memory.
Much later in life my dear Wife
bought me the Mighty Metro set so that I could play with the kids. Then I discovered digital which is all that I every wanted my slot-cars to be.
All the best - Greg
