With magnets in these should run well on a big track. But do remember that most of these cars have 3volt motors and could be difficult to drive on 12  volts.

These are low-cost slot-cars so cannot compare to more expensive ones. The ones pictured are quite old and are likely to have hardened tyres - replacing those is not a straightforward task.
