"Bring back the ******* V12's"
There is a sentence I can wholeheartedly get behind, I have been shouting something similar at the TV ever since the start of the Hybrid F1 cars :)

With you and Vettel all the way Tel, although I would prefer the V8s. Apart from the lack of proper engine noise noise hybrids are inherently dangerous and a disaster waiting to happen. Vettel was told to stop immediately in Russia because the electrical insulation had broken down and there was a risk he could be electrocuted.

But, but, but, The hybrid aspect is a firm relevance to road-cars. In fact the technical problems that strike F1 cars are similar to everyday cars - faulty sensors and the computer saying "No".
In order to maintain its claim to be "The Pinnacle Of Motorsport" F1 needs to stay current/relevant.
Ask yourself why you follow F1 and not Formula Ford (is that still on the go?).
I am a big fan of the World Rally Championship. UK club rallying can be good fun but when you have seen 20 Ford Escorts cornering sideways for the zillionth time, the attraction slips.

I don't follow F1 that closely these days and NASCAR is my motorsport of choice but, funnily enough, I do indeed follow Formula Ford which still provides some of the best racing on the planet some 50 years since its inception. On 2nd/3rd November I shall be paying my annual visit to Silverstone for the Walter Hayes Trophy meeting which is the world’s largest Formula Ford 1600 event.
LINK I never miss it.

I love an Escort wiggling its backside all over the place, but it's nice to have a bit of variation with some other cars too. The Roger Albert Clark rally was good for that, with the Saab 96, Datsun 240Z, Stratos, Fulvia, Austin Healey, Mini, Porsche 911, Talbot, Cortina etc. Pity it doesn't come anywhere close to me anymore.
Getting back to the topic at hand, when was the last V12 engine used in F1? A fair while ago, Vettel was probably still wearing a nappy.

Yes, it was a strange reference, I assumed he really meant the V10s or V8s.

V12 last used in 1995
LINK. Vettel was 8 years old so perhaps he was already planning his future career.
