With the overall shakedown of the Rallye Monte Carlo, today the 2026 WRC season kicked off.

35 Years ago, François Delecour made his debut in a works Ford Sierra Cosworth 4x4 at this Monegasque event.
To everyone’s surprise, he was leading at the end of the rally.
Unfortunately, he dropped back to third place overall after a ball joint in the rear suspension broke during the last special stage.
He was inconsolable, but for the future he had proven to be a formidable opponent.

Just before last Christmas, Scalextric launched Delecour's legendary Q8-sponsored works Cosworth 4x4.
An excellent choice and well proportioned to scale 1:32.
It has four-wheel drive, just like the real car. Scalextric used an O-ring to drive the front wheels.
The rear wheels are driven by an inline motor.
The Scalextric Sierra's tyres have plenty of grip, allowing you to try and drift through the corners as sideways as Delecour.

Wow man! That looks impressive I love the sapphire cos back in 90s I had a 3door cos worth uprated to 370bhp. Great car but lots of lag to get used to. I also want scalextric sierra cos worth 68450 I think McRae Gemini livery. Was thinking to get PSR kit & do same livery on it with Shaft drive 4x4 too.

Yes, there are many liveries of the Sierra Cosworth (4x4) that could be made as a slot car. 
I like Scalextric's choice of the C4685 Andrews Heat for Hire Cosworth of Russell Brookes.

The braids of the Swedish Rally Track are non-magnetic.
The grip of the tyres was surprisingly good.

I like Gemini ( scalextric Jimmy McRae) livery. Fantasy livery I know but want the 3door cos & sapphire 4x4 also RS200 Evo all in same livery. Am I mad
