Am working on a resin body of a Renault Floride/Caravelle.  Wanted the convertible version so have removed the roof and decided on a pale yellow colour.  Biggest challenge is finding wheels which need to be quite small, but I want it to have white-wall tyres. Have fitted some from a static model which have 2mm axles so now looking for a crown gear with a 2mm hole. I think that a Carrera Go! axle might work.
There are a couple of Floride builds in the old-place so I have something to follow.

Are the tyres a little hard??? trying to remember where I saw recently a build where he made the tyres... I will look and see if I can find it :)

Yes those tyres are quite hard, but I think that to get white paint to stick on them they need to be hard.  They are from one of those 1:32 Texaco trucks that you may have seen on Ebay.
I'm going to PM "Olivier Fantasy" on SFi and ask him what he did for his Floride.

PS - The Carrera white-wall tyres are much too large (Mustang and Thunderbird)

Sadly - could not find them - they were pics on an FB page where the builder from America described his process. Trawled through hundreds of pics - to no avail - sorry!!

Some progress:

Have added the interior (minimal) and hood cover and some other details. Not had a response to my message to a previous Floride builder so currently its a static although using a PCS32 chassis and can be upgraded later. The windscreen fitted nicely, I need to find wipers.
Still got some fine detail to add - chrome strip along the sides, which is a bit daunting. Above builder used two methods: 1) Mask and use a Molotov chrome pen; 2) Apply chrome "sellotape".  I have both so can hopefully move forward with guidance./recommendation.

The camera never lies and I can see that the side body moulding is a bit out of alignment - other side is better...

Leo - I am a fan of the Molotov pen - but do it last and let it dry thoroughly - 48 hours even before handling. I have found to my detriment that If I dont do that - you can remove the gloss chrome effect quite easily.

Another user of the Molotov pen here and yes, definitely seems to take forever to dry hard. 

For long side trim I think strips of tape are your best bet, especially if it's tapered.

Apply to glass for cutting but don't press down too hard to allow easy removal. Burnish into place on the car using the back of your fingernail then a final smooth and polish with a clean handkerchief.

I liked Top Down's suggestion of cutting the foil on glass, and since the Floride has the top down, I gave it a shot.
