Just to clarify for people, my overall Results are in no way official, its just something I have done (to mainly keep me occupied) just to see how my cars are getting on in the overall time.

Just checked back on the Ice Rink round in the TR7 Proxy...here's hoping those 914's suffer (in the nicest possible way gentlemen)
Or as Kevin Keegan put it...

Round 2 - Stage 2 - Brighton Pavilion Ice Rink
[attachment=29140]
The stage is set for tomorrow (Sunday) morning. For those of you who haven't met the ice rink before, it was built for the closing stage of the 2021 WHO Winter Rally Sprint (report
here) and also featured as Test One in that summer's TR7 proxy (report
here). The winners were an SRC Porsche 914/6 GT and a Scalextric Triumph TR7. I believe the winner of that latter stage is in the mix tomorrow - up against four Porsche 914s.
[attachment=29138]
The track is routed into a 6 x 2 foot sheet of white matt PVC foam board (Foamex), with 12 volts provided via copper tape. The board is not painted and gives a low-grip road surface. Two of the corners are very tight - the slot is cut on a 4.5-inch radius.
[attachment=29139]
Driving the ice rink is all about rhythm and a decently set up car. In the past, the stage has been run over 15 laps. For this event, I've lowered it to just 5 laps - a quick 15 second blast...
[attachment=29141]
Incidentally, a real ice rink is built each winter on the lawn in front of the famous Brighton Pavilion (more about the Pavilion
here). Probably not quite big enough for a full-size ice racing course, but it would be rather cool to see some cars on there!
Tomorrow's stage will start at the crack of dawn and will run through to mid/late morning. I'll post results and pictures after each group of cars - starting around 8-8.30am GMT.

Sorry, not running any TR7's in this one. A Scaley Metro and a Ninco Saxo. Don't worry, they are running the Slot It HRS chassis, just like the TR7 had.
Here's a reminder of the TR7.

Well tomorrow I will be trying my luck with ClassicChrisk at the Wye Valley Club, Slot Car Rally day, so no doubt we will be looking in to see how things are going in the proxy in the afternoon, and then its back Monday for the Results day Roundup.
Now where did I put my best Rally Cars.............somewhere in Brighton I think

Event 4 - Modern WRC
For this second stage, the cars are running in reverse order - Event 4 through to Event 1 - and the car that went last on the Ninco starts the group on the ice.
Each car gets some warm-up laps to establish a rhythm - and then it's into the 5 lap timed run.
Here are a couple of action pics from the first group of modern WRC cars...
[attachment=29143] [attachment=29144]
First to run was James' Subaru Impreza...
[attachment=29145]
The big car was nice and smooth on the ice, but a little ponderous through the tight switch-back, clocking 16.22 seconds and no deslots.
[attachment=29146]
Scott Sports' Renault Clio was smooth, nimble, but just a little tippy - it looked great going round the corner at the end of the straight on three wheels! Loads of fun and not a bad time of 14.15 seconds (0 deslots).
[attachment=29147]
The silver Subaru of High Voltage was very quick round the rink, showing nice stability and flow. A time of 13.81 seconds (0 deslots) was the fastest so far.
[attachment=29148]
BARacer's Citroën C4 was a bit unpredictable on acceleration and braking, making the warm-up laps rather hair-raising! However, once in a smooth rhythm, the first of the C4s stopped the clock at 13.68 seconds (0 deslots) to go top of the timing sheet.
[attachment=29149]
Have I mentioned that I like this car? Always immense fun to throw around tight corners, the big Subaru is also quick -13.15 seconds (0 deslots) the best so far.
[attachment=29150]
The Munchi's Ford Focus was good on the Ninco stage and SSRC's car also proved competitive on the ice. Although quite noisy, a 13.75 second run (0 deslots) was third quickest.
[attachment=29151]
How would the standard Scalextric Subaru do? Team Alaric's Impreza was smooth, but not quite as punchy as the Ninco cars. The result - a very solid 14.15 seconds (0 deslots).
[attachment=29152]
Mountain View's Hyundai i20 had a good 5 laps on the ice - stopping the clock at 14.18 seconds (0 deslots).
[attachment=29153]
The second Citroën C4 saw Ruscillo Racing bang in a 14.25 second run (0 deslots) - just struggling a little through the tightest section of the track... something I've noticed with anglewinder cars.
[attachment=29154]
Harrison Racers' Subaru was nice and smooth through the stage, clocking an identical 14.25 second time (0 deslots) to the previous car.
[attachment=29155]
Last to go was the Bangers Racing Citroën Saxo. A joy to drive in the first stage, this was punchy, nimble and well-planted around the rink - not suffering the same issues with tipping as the Clio. A rapid run of 13.68 seconds (0 deslots) put the Saxo equal runner-up with BARacer's C4 in this group...
[attachment=29156]
1. Woodcote Racing - Subaru Impreza - 13.15 seconds (0 deslots)
2. BARacer - Citroën C4 - 13.68 seconds (0 deslots)
= Bangers Racing - Citroën Saxo - 13.68 seconds (0 deslot)
4. SSRC - Ford Focus WRC - 13.75 seconds (0 deslots)
5. High Voltage - Subaru Impreza - 13.81 seconds (0 deslots)
6. Scott Sports - Renault Clio - 14.15 seconds (0 deslots)
=Team Alaric - Subaru Impreza - 14.15 seconds (0 deslots)
8. Mountain View - Hyundai i20 - 14.18 seconds (0 deslots)
9. Ruscillo Racing - Citroën C4 - 14.25 seconds (0 deslots)
= Harrisons Racers - Subaru Impreza - 14.25 seconds (0 deslots)
11. James WV - Subaru Impreza - 16.22 seconds (0 deslots)
Combining the times for the two stages gives us the Event result for the Brighton round...
[attachment=29157]
1. Woodcote Racing - Subaru Impreza - 78.20 seconds
2. Scott Sports - Renault Clio - 80.96 seconds
3. Ruscillo Racing - Citroën C4 - 82.66 seconds
4. Team Alaric - Subaru Impreza - 83.08 seconds
5. SSRC - Ford Focus WRC - 83.48 seconds
6. Bangers Racing - Citroën Saxo - 84.45 seconds
7. James WV - Subaru Impreza - 87.27 seconds
8. Harrisons Racers - Subaru Impreza - 92.26 seconds
9. BARacer - Citroën C4 - 100. 72 seconds
10. Mountain View - Hyundai i20 - 101.66 seconds
11. High Voltage - Subaru Impreza - 102.21 seconds
That's the whole field covered by just 24.01 seconds - definitely the most consistent and competitive group of the four. Thanks to everyone for preparing and sending your modern WRC cars, they were a pleasure to drive!

BAracer - 12th-Mar-23
That's a bonus! However, my C4 was tuned on my low-grip forest track, so maybe not so much of a surprise.
Here's hoping for more slippy tracks!

Event 3 - Rally Legends
Here are a couple of action shots of the second group of the morning - the Rally Legends...
[attachment=29158] [attachment=29159]
First off the start line was Courtney Sport's Porsche 914/6...
[attachment=29160]
Not quite as smooth as expected, the car's guide seemed to be catching at a number of points round the track. Nonetheless, a 14.05 second run (0 deslots) was a competitive time after the disappointment of the Ninco stage.
[attachment=29161]
Next was ALS Racing's Alfa Romeo GTAm. Hesitant through the tight switch-back, a time of 14.21 seconds (0 deslots) was certainly good enough to consolidate on Friday's performance.
[attachment=29162]
The SSRC Triumph TR7 was super-smooth round the ice, but lacked the necessary punch for a fast time. The clock was stopped at 15.68 seconds (0 deslots).
[attachment=29163]
The second Porsche 914/6 was enormous fun, but lacked some rear-end grip on the ice. James' car was timed at 16.92 seconds (0 deslots) - a bit too much sideways action...
[attachment=29164]
The Scott Sport Escort was another really fun car to drive - not 100% stable, but predictable with its slides and three-wheel cornering! A time of 15.62 seconds (0 deslots), plus a firm fan-favourite with the crowd!
[attachment=29165]
BARacer's car won the TR7 proxy stage on the ice rink back in 2021. It was super-smooth and quick again this time, setting a rapid 13.41 seconds (0 deslots).
[attachment=29166]
Winner of the group on Friday, the Road Runners Fiat 131 struggled on the ice - a little cumbersome through the tight stuff. Would the time of 14.75 seconds (0 deslots) be enough for a combined victory?
[attachment=29167]
Savage GT's Escudería Montjuïc Porsche 914/6 was simply awesome through this stage. A sensational 13.08 seconds (0 deslots) was the fastest time of the morning so far.
[attachment=29168]
Another TR7 and another smooth run. Team's Cube's Leyland supercar stopped the clock at 14.21 seconds (0 deslots).
[attachment=29169]
Last to go was Brumos RSR's Porsche 914/6. This was another rapid 5 laps - 13.88 seconds (0 deslots) - enough for third place in the Rally Legends Group...
[attachment=29170]
1. Savage GT - Porsche 914/6 - 13.08 seconds (0 deslots for all cars)
2. BARacer - Triumph TR7 - 13.41 seconds
3. Brumos RSR - Porsche 914/6 - 13.88 seconds
4. Courtney Sport - Porsche 914/6 - 14.05 seconds
5. Team Cube - Triumph TR7 - 14.21 seconds
= ALS Racing - Alfa Romeo Giulia - 14.21 seconds
7. RoadRunners - Fiat 131 Abarth - 14.75 seconds
8. Scott Sports - Ford Escort - 15.62 seconds
9. SSRC - Triumph TR7 - 15.68 seconds
10. James WV - Porsche 914/6 - 16.92 seconds
Those results meant a change of top spot overall for the Event 3 combined times...
[attachment=29171]
1. Brumos RSR - Porsche 914/6 - 81.81 seconds
2. RoadRunners - Fiat 131 Abarth - 81.83 seconds
3. James WV - Porsche 914/6 - 84.93 seconds
4. Savage GT - Porsche 914/6 - 85.29 seconds
5. BARacer - Triumph TR7 - 87.30 seconds
6. Scott Sports - Ford Escort - 89.55 seconds
7. SSRC - Triumph TR7 - 95.92 seconds
8. ALS Racing - Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm - 97.41 seconds
9. Team Cube - Triumph TR7 - 103.77 seconds
10. Courtney Sport - Porsche 914/6 - 122.85 seconds
That top six is so close - just 7.74 seconds separating them over the two Brighton stages. Thanks for sending in these fabulous Rally Legends cars for me to drive this weekend - it was especially pleasing to see three of the TR7s back in action!
