Continuing my cull of cars that don't fit my collection.
This one hasn't had much use. It's almost original and the mirrors have never been broken. I can't remember what motor it came with, but it has a black-print variant of the RX-42B in now. The tyres are the original-fit ones and the rears don't show much wear. The magnet is in place.
Slightly less good is the competition number and driver name have gone off the top right corner of the windscreen, and there is a small section of the "Fiona ALRiaz Harris" lettering missing on the right-hand door.
There's a new one on everyone's favourite auction site for just south of £35 inc postage. So how does £20 posted for mine sound?
This is not a post about the merits of the climate change debate, regardless of which side you are on and I am not trying to start any political trouble.
It is just a simple question really - the government is/was making various rules about EVs, phasing out gas boilers, compulsory heat pumps etc. So why on earth haven't they made the fitting of solar panels on every new building, commercial and domestic, a compulsory part of obtaining planning permission? It would add a very small percentage to the astronomical cost of the average new build, everybody would get some free electricity and, if you believe in such things, would massively help save the planet.
Hi guys just quick question. Scaleauto rs200 R series chassis make two types hard & medium. I have a scalextric sport rally track so which chassis would be best suited? I have ordered some more parts too so should be able to post photos of build soon. Thanx in advance.
Our next HO racing at the Barn is a WHO Mod & Tuners night on Wednesday 3 July.
We'll be building one of Simon's classic Mod tracks from 2018...
Doors open at 6.15pm for practice, allowing us the flexibility to start the heats early and guarantee a pre-9.30 finish.
As always, WHO Tuners club cars and DS controllers are available for those giving HO a go for the first time. Entry is £3 for adults and £2 for under-16s. We ask that any racers aged 13 and below bring a responsible adult with them.
Continuing my clear out.
SCX Delta S4. Original box included. RX-81 motor with front of armature shaft shortened to suit. Mag in place. Urethane rear tyres (originals, lightly used, in box). Lights work.
Now the not so good bits. It's had weight glued in behind the guide, it came out but the glue residue is still on the chassis. One mirror is missing and the other has been badly glued. However, I will include a Scalextric accessory bag for their version of the Delta S4 - I just never got round to fitting the mirrors on this one.
This car runs really nicely non-mag on Scalextric Sport track, even without the weight behind the guide.
I was going to repaint it white and livery it as the Totip car, but to be honest the car doesn't really fit in my collection so my heart wasn't in it. If you ask me nicely, I will include the decal sheet.
£30 posted to UK addresses?
Just seen this on BBC Look East via FB...a brilliant project idea
Kids designing and racing their own design Slot cars. Untold skills being learned here...and most importantly they seem to love being involved in the project.

Continuing my clear-out. The car started out as a "ModelZone" edition 911 GT3R
I started this during a phase when I was going to utilise part of my rally track as a European Hillclimb. I got bored of it that idea, so I'm getting rid of the few GT cars I have left.
I collected together all the parts, with the exception of a motor and mount, to convert the car to inline. The interior tray and chassis are by Alexis. The shell is fully stripped, ready to paint, and as far as I can remember all the parts are included. The original chassis, motor, and axles are included. I can't remember if the motor is the original, or if I replaced it.
£10 including UK postage??
Last year was the first time this race really grabbed my attention so this year I made sure to watch many more hours than I did in 2023.
Very enjoyable, great team of presenters and no 'F1 style whittering' (I'm looking at you crofty)
Well done to Ferrari for the first car over the line but the beauty of this race is the various winners.
Really looking forward to Le Mans 2025 and we'll be increasing our two Le Manx events on our own race calendar as they are really popular.
AFX22082 Shelby Mustang GT500H Black/Gold. RRP $42.99. Arrived at the AFX warehouse on 12 June - due with retailers very soon.
After acquiring exclusive rights for the AFX brand in 2020 and finally unshackling themselves from parent company Tomy, Racemasters are delivering an exciting time for HO enthusiasts around the world, with wave after wave of new releases.
The next car due to arrive is a stunning livery on the rather tasty Mustang GT500 mould. Designated GT500H, this is a throwback to the famous 1966 'Rent-a-Racer' Mustang GT350H...
Around a thousand of these cars were produced in partnership with Hertz, almost all painted in black with gold stripes - although a few were Shelby Oxford white with blue stripes. The 1966 GT350H hire car was marketed to businessmen and strictly for over-25s - however, many ended up at the local racetrack or drag strip, hence the 'Rent-a-Racer' nickname. Often passed over as ex-rentals when coming up for sale in the late 60s and early 70s, these V8-powered Shelby-spec models are now some of the most sought-after Mustangs for modern-day collectors.
Fast-forward to the summer of 2022 and the Shelby-Hertz partnership was revived to produce 25 'H' versions of the 2021 Mustang GT500 - 19 in black and 6 in white. The 5.2-litre V8 engine delivered over 900 bhp, making this one hell of a hire car! They were available at Fort Myers, Las Vegas, Miami, Orlando, Phoenix and Tampa, costing from $399 per day. A bargain!
The AFX model recreates the GT500H as an HO slot car, featuring the iconic black and gold livery plus tiny Hertz and Shelby decals...
Underneath the Mustang body is the 1.7-inch wheelbase Mega-G+ chassis, which runs on any traditional HO slot car system. Spares are widely available...
The AFX Shelby GT500H is available for pre-order at a number of US retailers for $35 upwards. Enthusiasts in Australia, Europe and the UK will be able to pick up the car a few weeks after the US release from their usual vendors. There is a store-finder page on the Racemasters website: https://afxracing.com/stores/
Thanks to Elyse and the Racemasters AFX team in Reno, Nevada for the fabulous images of this new car...
