Hello fellow slot car racers I would like to introduce myself.I live in the south eastern suburb of Melbourne Australia called Springvale South.I have been involved in this wonderful hobby for over 50 years.I have raced Womps,16d and S16d flexis,GTP and Wing 12 in the past. Now I race BRM,ScaleAuto,Slotworx and Plafit in 1/24 and Revo,Sideways,Carrera,Slot. It and Scalextric in 1/32
I think this one was even harder work than the Allard. I intended to use a Dynamic chassis with a General Electric motor - a big brute of a motor for a big brute of a car - but I couldn't get the Dynaflex motor mount apart to replace the springs with tube to stop the rear axle tramping. A 36D was the next choice so refurbished a K&B Bobcat with a nice yellow can to match the body colour but couldn't find a pinion to fit a 36D shaft so eventually went with a 26D.
The only kit I could get was a 66 Galaxie by AMT which is from a very old mould so loads of flash to clean up and loads of metal trim detail moulded into the body sides which I sanded out.
The wheels inserts are made from the standard road car wheels from the kit which also included 2 or 3 other sets of chromed wheels that will probably come in handy for other builds. The whole wheel should be black but I thought the polished rims looked better. Decals by Gofer Racing are very thin but went on very well and with a bit of care were fine with Tamiya clear coat. Driver is vacform body and resin head from a George Turner Mini.
No idea how it goes as I can't test until club reopens but I suspect it will need a brass plate underneath to calm it down a bit.
Just released by Mitoos - and due to arrive in the UK any time - are a whopping 22 sheets of classic late 80s and early 90s Formula One waterslide decals. I'd say perfect timing for those new NSR Formula 86/89 cars. You can see them all - plus loads of other decal sheets - on the Mitoos website: mitoos.com/calcas-slot
The new F1 sheets are priced at 8 Euros and should be in stock at Pendles and MRE soon. It's the first time Mitoos have produced decals for individual cars - and here's what's on offer...

I have just discovered a new brand from Belgium that will make 1:32 scale models resin kits , and 3D printed chassis.
1:1 Car
Frazer Nash was a brand of British sports car manufactured from 1922 first by Frazer Nash Limited founded by engineer Archibald Frazer-Nash. On its financial collapse in 1927 a new company, AFN Limited, was incorporated. Control of AFN passed to Harold John Aldington in 1929.
Until the Second World War AFN continued to produce a small number of sports cars badged Frazer Nash incorporating a unique multi-chain transmission. It continued after the war making another 85 sports cars before ending manufacture in 1957. The post-war cars had conventional transmissions.
UK agents for BMW they arranged coachwork and made modifications including badging the cars Frazer Nash BMW
Slot Car Model
The first car to start off this new slot car enterprise , is the Frazer Nash High Speed Le Mans Replica, which entered the 1949 24 Hours of Le Mans, where it finished 3rd
This version of the 1:1 car was powered by the Bristol-BMW 2 liter engine , which was in the BMW 328 and which AFN held the British Liscence, and from which this version was largely derived.
While I am sure these are pre-full production photos, the car will be available in September.
looking good!!
Racer Sideways SW-67 Toyota Celica LB Group 5 Turbo - DRM Championship 1977 - Harald Ertl. Available very soon. RRP £72.95
The first models of the new Toyota Celica LB Turbo are now shipping out from Racer Sideways HQ in France and should be arriving with retailers over the next couple of weeks. It is a fabulous-looking model and an excellent addition to the Sideways Group 5 grid...
The Group 5 Toyota Celica LB Turbo was built and prepared for Toyota Deutschland by Schnitzer to compete in the 1977 Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft (DRM) series. Plagued by reliability issues, the Celica was only entered for the final three races of the ten-race DRM season. It proved no match for the dominant Porsche 935s, although it did pick up a non-championship race win at Zolder and finish fourth in the DRM Division 1 class at the final Nürburgring race in October. Driven by Harald Ertl, the car carried the #56 number and blue Rodenstock-sponsored livery at Hockenheim in July and Zolder in August - managing a total of seven laps across the two races.
Things didn't get much better for the Schnitzer Celica in 1978, Ralf Stommelen taking the start of five of the eleven races and finishing just one. The #1 car had changed from the blue to a red and white livery for the new season - a livery already planned for release by Sideways. In 1978, the LB Turbo was shipped to Japan where it was raced by TOM'S Nobuhide Tachi in the Fuji Super Silhouette series. Tachi won in the Celica's third race, but retired in all the others. The bodywork had been extensively modified - particularly at the front - but was reverted back to the Schnitzer set-up when the Trust team bought the car in 1981 and was raced for two season with moderate success by Kaoru Hoshino. With the collapse of the Silhouette series in 1984, the car disappeared - only to be discovered in the early 2000s in a Japanese junkyard.
The Celica LB Turbo was always one of the best-looking Group 5 cars in my opinion and I drooled over the various Tamiya model kits and RC cars when I was growing up. MRRC have already produced a 1/32 scale slot car version in the early 2000s, featuring several different DRM liveries - #56, 60 and 68 in blue and the #1 in red and white - and I expect to see those on the Sideways car at some point.
Underneath, the Sideways Celica features their usual Group 5 layout...
There's no doubt in my mind that it'll be another great racer on the track. To assist with racing, a number of Celica-specific accessories will be available...
SWTC/A - Sideways Celica Chassis (standard)
SWTC/A1 - Sideways Celica Chassis Flex
SWTC/B - Sideways Celica Parts (detailing parts for chassis)
SWTC/C - Sideways Celica Spoiler (standard)
SWTC/C1 - Sideways Celica Spoiler Flex
SWTC/D - Sideways Celica Transparent Parts
SWTC/E - Sideways Celica Cockpit Lexan
There is also a white kit and a separate white body kit expected soon.
The #56 Celica is available as a Pre-Order now at MRE and will be available at Gaugemaster, Pendles and other Sideways retailers soon.
NSR have released the latest in their themed car range called Formula 86-89
This tends to follow on with most companies these days of as many colours as possible on the same base.
However this version is very close to the Ferrari of this period, and of course this one has no prancing horse.
These follow on from the earlier releases this year:
A very nice Brabham version:
And then 2 more generic versions - the Leyton House and a Jagermeister.
In 2021 the Williams version will be arriving.
Found this while trawling around - the definitive list of slot.it spares......

I wanted to give it a try for very long, finally I found time to build it.Since it has to be easily transported, and will be stored in a covered but open area therefore has to be light and with stand humidity. The solution I found was styrofoam.I had already experimented with a couple of special stages, one single board(250 X60 cm) each .The big issue was if I would be able to bend the board.Which I succeded.I used a single board for this one too because I wasnt sure if bonding 2 pieces would be strong enough.I used pva glue and pu foam which worked quite well.Unfortunately I did not think of taking photos in the proccess but I shot a short video from the firat run.First impressions:
-ground clearence has to be at least 1.5
-BREAKS ,the first car that touched the track ended on the floor at the end of the downhill section
-sprung guide or drop arm a must
-guard rails and walls have to be added
Planning for the next one, this time I will shoot hpotos and it will be more car friendly
For the time being here is a short video

Track for sale, I just can't find the time and enthusiasm to race, so, I'm selling my track, i built it a couple of years ago in my loft, it was made so that it could be taken apart without damage (all bolted + biscuit joints), it measures 9 metres long x 2 metres ay one end and a bit more at the other, the photos will show all you need to know, the longest section is 8ft long (for transport) and the widest is 4ft.
PRICE....well thats the question, any reasonable offer will be accepted, I cant deliver so its cash on collection.
