Policar Ferrari 412P - Spa 1967 - Willy Mairesse and Jean 'Beurlys' Braton

The Ferrari 412P was the customer version of the 1966 330 P3, with the Ecurie Francorchamps featuring a 330 P3 spec chassis and four-litre V12 engine. The 1967 Spa 1000 Kms was most notable for the winning Mirage M1 driven by Jacky Ickx and Dick Thompson. The Ecurie Francorchamps 412P qualified fourth, just behind the works P4, but an accident in the wet ended the race for the Belgians.

Fly present new liveries on their Porsche 908/2 Spyder - three of the six works Porsche cars that dominated the 53rd Targa Florio on this day in 1969. It was a bit of a walkover for Porsche - Ferrari didn't bother to turn up, Alfa Romeo had entered just one car, and the Lola T70 of Bonnier and Muller looked an outsider. Race day on the rugged Sicilian roads was all about which Porsche would win.

Fly Lancia 037 Tour de Corse 1984 - Markku Alén / Ilkka Kivimäki

Although it was a first victory of the season for Lancia and Alén and Alén took the lead in the championship, all eyes were on the new Peugeot 205 T16 at the 1984 Tour de Corse. Alén had been quiet throughout the event, speaking to journalists at the end to say "I am very lucky". In 1984, the Tour de Corse was a marathon - thirteen hours of racing (compared to only three in 2019), including brutally long and twisty stages and plenty of night-time driving. There were downpours - in which Alén lost his windscreen wipers and Vatanen's leading Peugeot crashed - and Alén also suffered a broken clutch, ran out of fuel and suffered from some poor tyre choices. So "very lucky" was not far off.

Penelope Pitlane Ferrari 156 'Aero' kit - Monaco GP 1964 - Lorenzo Bandini

The 156 'Aero' was the 1963 update of the 156 'Sharknose' that had taken the drivers' and constructors' titles in 1961. John Surtees drove the 'Aero' version to fourth place in the 1963 world championship, winning at Nürburgring - his first Grand Prix victory. Surtees would switch to the V8-powered 158 for the start of the 1964 season, with Bandini racing the 156 'Aero' at Monaco, Brands Hatch, Nürburgring and Zeltweg. The Austrian Grand Prix was the final win for a 156 and would be Bandini's first and only time on the top step of a world championship podium.
