Mallory Park
Situated in the rolling hills of the Leicestershire countryside, Mallory Park is set in the 300 acre grounds of what was once Kirkby Hall.
The 1 mile oval section of the circuit dates back to it's use as a pony trotting track in the late 1940s. Kirkby Hall was demolished in 1952 and the track was used for grass track motorcycle racing. The site was sold in 1953, the current tarmac surface was constructed in 1956, and Mallory Park was officially opened as a motorsport venue in the same year.
The circuit enjoyed success throughout the 1960s, 70s, and 80s and has hosted all major motor racing formulae to be contested in post-war England – European Formula Two Championship, British Formula One Championship, Group 7 sport cars, European Formula 5000, British Formula Three Championship and British Saloon Car Championship.
