First Steps
If there was an older version of SlotMan installed on your computer, the old slotman.dat – file may be copied to the folder where the newer version of SlotMan is installed to. After that, start SlotMan and exit the program. When asked if the file should be saved, click “Yes”. The file slotman.dat is the upgraded to the current release.
Slotman consists of the two modules track editor and timing. To be able to design track layouts it is necessary to configure the used track system (track brand) and it´s sections. The currently used Carrera-track systems are predefined.
Manage/Track Systems7XTIWS: In this dialog the basic properties of the used track system(s) are configured. All the sections of the track systems are configured here, too. In most cases all that has to be done is importing the track system you own.
For all owners of tracks that are installed permanently who don´t use the track editor there´s also a configuration for the lane lengths of a track which is called “Default”-Track. Those lane lengths are used for calculating speeds in the timing module of the software.
The configuration of the timing module is located at File/Timing Options2Y73VN.
When these configurations are done, the program should be exited_D22B1 (be sure to save changes).
There is a file named “slotman.dat” in the folder where you installed the software to. This file contains all the information gathered and managed by the software, so backup it frequently.
Now you can start planning a new track layout. Just start with a new track1TRJ4VN....
Events like races can be run without having created a new layout (Default-Track).
The most important functions of SlotMan can be reached via large buttons on the program´s main page.
