- Scalextric Race-Tuned Controllers (Vintage) - Scuderia_Turini - 30th-Jan-24

Hello everybody,
Am looking for some feedback from people who own a Race-Tuned controller.
My interest was sparked by a posting elsewhere where the O-P mentioned that these units provide dynamic braking. Ebay confirmed this so looking for any pitfalls or encouragement before deciding to buy.

The context is just a bit of hobby interest, no intention to use one for competitive racing!

I had a pair of these a long time ago, like 35 years ago! From the distant recesses of my memory:
They were much better quality than the standard offering, about on a par with Parma controllers.
Yes they did have brakes.
The ohmage was different to the standard offering. I think lower at 25ohms but not totally sure. As such they were better suited to the 'race tuned' cars and not so good with the others.

Cheers Brian.  They certainly look robust.  The instructions mention ability to easily change resistor assemblies but I have never heard of any alternatives being available.
Probably to low ohms for standard modern motors but I'm really looking at them being part of the Scalextric story. I guess I would need to get a race-tuned car to get the full experience and then get the motor re-zapped...

From 1968 catalogue - 25ohm standard, 15ohm (part #W761) option. Whether this was freely available is open to debate!

From 1969 catalogue - renumbered as A270 and includes 15 ohm resistor in pack.

Thanks Brian,
Had missed the details in the advert.
