event 2 ,
is this a podded or none podded chassis event ?
most of the manufacturers examples for this event are none podded chassis
would keeping them none podded , or if originally supplied with a podded chassis , having to use the supplied chassis , keep this event field more competitive ?
this would still allow 3dp & universal chassis , as long as they are none podded
perhaps this would help keep the field tight and prevent any one car running away with the event ?
just a thought ...... your thoughts please

That would rule out the obvious choices of cars in E.2 such as SlotIt

It should be clear that SLOT IT cars are not permitted in Event 2 !
This Event only permits Scalex, SCX, Carrera or Ninco body models.

I understand the request on chassis, but the fact is that many of the models listed have podded 3d chassis (eg Amato) available and probably fewer non podded 3d printed from elsewhere? So to encourage a resonable level of participation I have included these to be used. I think the other associated Event restrictions on Tyre width, car width and  S-can motors max 21k in line configuration. These combined should ensure a majority of the cars are reasonably competitive, if they have podded motor mounts or not. However of course there will always be those who will make their cars run much better regardless of chassis type, as we seen before.

Yes of course I was forgetting the obvious criteria

was thinking more towards the original supplied chassis really
realistically since i have an FDM printer , every car i have , could in theory have a podded 3dp chassis
wasn't a request Graham , just a thought , and to clear things in my little tin pot mind  Rofl
thanks for the clarification  Thumbup

Wavegreen As we approach the launch of Global Touring cars Challenge proxy, last in the series of "Triple Crown Proxies" I feel we have covered the topics which interests me fairly well at least once. And each series had a similar structure for all of the topics. ie Choice of Events, Car class, choice of motors, chassis, etc.

So for planning a future proxy series, on one hand I feel that there should be some fundemental changes but on the otherhand do not want to disengage the current support which we get, and if anything would like to widen the appeal of the proxies I organise.

As these things take a long time to prepare, so I have decided to draw up a consensus document to send to current and perhaps previous participants asking for their views. They will be sent by email individually as I think this is the best way to get good feedback. So I would ask everyone to make the effort and send me back their honest opinions please.

Probably also post a link on here for any people who have not entered because of the current structure, rules etc, but would like to if only.......

I would really like to start with a clean sheet of paper, and open to any way of improving and maintaining interest in proxy racing in the UK. I am not getting any younger so dont think I can go on organising them for very much longer, but get great enjoyment from organising them whilst I can.
