EVENT 4   MODERN WRC

THE FINAL GROUP, AND I WAS EXPECTING THIS TO BE REALLY CLOSE, AND THEY CERTAINLY OBLIGED!
A VERY INTERESTING,  AND DIVERSE SET OF CARS.  MANY HAD SO MUCH GRIP THAT EVEN THE SCX ICE EFFECT TRACK COULDN'T PERSUADE THEM INTO ANY RALLY STYLE SIDEWAYS ACTION,  BUT THEY DID GO QUICK.

Top of the tree by a whisker was RUSCILLO RACINGs Citroen C4.  No matter what I did it just went round like it was on rails.  0 points for getting into a drift,  10 out of 10 for pure speed!  Absolutely on its tail was the Subaru from Woodcote Racing,  which was exceptionally smooth, and well balanced.  3rd to the fabulous looking Hyundai from Mountain View,  this one surprised me.
The tarmac stage with this group will be great fun, the top 4 have a slight gap, but not a lot.

No real issues.  The Subaru of Team Alaric found the twistiest bits a challenge,  and just to prove there was no "home track advantage " on this stage I managed to design a Stage which my Ninco Ford Focus,  and the other Ninco 4WD powered models, didn't really perform on!
I hope it redeems itself on the Shed End Circuit,  it should do, it can probably drive the track all on its own  Cool

STAGE 4b SHED END CIRCUIT TARMAC STAGE WILL BE TOMORROW,  RESULTS UP AT SOME POINT.

I FIND THIS BIT MUCH MORE TRICKY THAN DRIVING THE CARS, AM I THE ONLY ONE?  Wavegreen Checkeredflag

Well done Pip!

Happy with a 3rd place for the TR, but the C4 obviously needed better preparation.

Hi Jeremy,

I have to admit that the stage caused less trouble than I was expecting!
I think the combination of SCX and Scalextric sport suited more of the runners than Scalextric Classic.

Really enjoyed your TR7,  it was a good bit better today than mine.

Tarmac Stage tomorrow,  so hopefully no problems to come?

Had a thought,  if I return the entries to you, then you could always drive to Abergavenny for the next round  Wavegreen

RE: Rally Cars Slotting Proxy 2023 - Kevan - 24th-Mar-23

Scaley Sport is good track, it's flat, the slot is deeper and the rails don't stick up at the ends...it's our bare minimum for plastic track.

RE: Rally Cars Slotting Proxy 2023 - Savage GT - 25th-Mar-23

As far as I remember, I used the same guide for both cars, and trimmed them down.
I obviously trimmed one a little better than the other (or set the front wheels bump stop a little lower on the Porsche) !
Fingers crossed the M1 will fare better at Shed End.

From my measurements the BMW M1 was 6.4mm depth and the Porsche 914/6 was 6mm depth

HELLO,  AND WELCOME TO DAY TWO AT THE SEND SCALEXTRIC RALLYING CLUB  Wavegreen

STAGE 4b IS A TARMAC SPECIAL STAGE,  USING MY SHED END CIRCUIT.
WE WILL BE RUNNING ON THE BLUE LANE,  WHICH IS JUST OVER 51 FEET IN LENGTH.   SCALEXTRIC SPORT TRACK,  REPAINTED WITH ULTRA SMOOTH MASONRY PAINT FOR A BETTER GRIP.  IT STILL OFFERS A GOOD DEGREE OF SLIDE ABILITY.
TIMING VIA THE EXCELLENT DS TIMING SYSTEMS,  DS CONTROLLER, AND POWER AT 12 VOLTS.

TODAY'S STAGE IS GOING CLOCKWISE,  AND AS YOU CAN SEE WE HAVE TWO LEVELS,  TUNNELS AND BOTH HAIRPINS FEATURE CROSSOVER CORNERS,  SHOULDN'T BE ANY PROBLEM TODAY WITH ONLY A SINGLE CAR RUNNING.    FAMOUS LAST WORDS.......

ALL ENTRIES WILL HAVE 6 WARM UP LAPS, THEN A 3 LAP BLAST TO COMPLY WITH THE STAGE RESTRICTIONS FOR TARMAC STAGES.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS  Thumbup

EVENT 3  RALLY LEGENDS

STAGE 4b  SHED END CIRCUIT

First up in this category was Courtney Sports Porsche 914/6.  20 seconds off the pace yesterday,  it certainly redeemed itself today,  Scalextric Sport was much more its cup of tea, as we say over here.  It's time for 3 .laps proved to be good enough for 3rd.

RoadRunners excellent Fiat 131 Abarth split a Porsche podium,  very smooth and quick,  but out front again was Savage GT's Porsche.   Half a second up, and certainly one to keep an eye on for the overall win.
Just 4 seconds between 1st and 10th,  with the top Triumph TR7 again going to BARacer,

Fastest lap   -  Porsche 914/6 #118 Savage GT   7,594s

Very evenly matched,  thanks guys  Thumbup
