Wishful thinking!

Thanks!

Here you can see how I made the shrubs:
Hub
[attachment=17595][attachment=17596]
Twist iron binding wire with a hand drill with strips of sisal rope in between. Masking tape on the trunk of a small tree before covering it with wall paint.
[attachment=17597][attachment=17598]
Dipping the shrub in turpentine-based paint. The sprinkling of the shrub with a mixture of grits from the model train shop.
[attachment=17599][attachment=17600]
Shaking off the excess grit from the shrub. Three steps how to make small shrubs.

The result on the track. A small shrub in front of the Impreza. A combination of different coloured shrubs.

Wow! Really fantastic work on the trees and shrubbery. It looks very realistic! And I appreciate the tutorial. I may have to try my hand at a few. And the details on the buildings. The lighting really brings the circuit to life. Nothing overdone. Just perfect!

2 questions hub: Why turpentine paint- I assume to dip and then sprinkle foliage? not after foliage is on surely?
Then you talk about wall glue/paint - do you mean the glue used for wall paper?

Hi Anthony,
Correct. First the shrub is dipped into the paint.
After letting it drip out, it's sprinkled with a mixture of grits from the model train shop.
Turpentine paint is thinner than latex/wall paint and good to dilute (with turpentine). It keeps the details of the branches better visible after the dipping and prevents clumping of the whole shrub.
I am talking about "wall paint", as you can see under the second photo of my copper wire trees.

Let me tell you this is NOT easy - just reconfirms how good your work is....

After a few trees or shrubs it will certainly be easier.
I wish you good luck with your progress

After the trees and shrubs, here's an easy and inexpensive way to make your own hedges:

Copper pins (toothpicks or nails are also suitable). Steelwool (sprayed black).

Spray glue has been used to hold the mixture of grits from the model train shop. The hedge is situated behind the sliding Talbot Sunbeam Lotus.
