Latest update. Spent a lot of time fixing the track to the base so that I can test my concept of folding it up. Here's the result. Seems to be working fine! But it is a bit fragile. I will need to come up with some stronger attachment of the track along the base board splits.

If cars are going Into the tunnel in your last two pics, it looks like they'll clip the corner of the wall or rock if they're going too fast - 1:32 cars. 1:24 cars will most definitely hit.
Hopefully they are coming Out of the tunnel!

They are coming out of the tunnel
I do have a similar situation on tunnel entry which I am adding a tyre wall for.

Would a short barrier fence fit and even look right? Like the stock Scalex fencing? You might be able to drill new holes in the track to fit a short piece.
Protect your decoration work. It's too nice to ruin.

Waiting for track fixing clips from PendleSlot that’s been out of stock for a while now. But they managed to dig out
one remaining pack which is now in the mail. Hence the middle section isn’t progressing as much as the two end sections. The overpass side is now 95% done. The opposite side has gotten a huge gravel trap now that is currently drying up. Cork granulated sprayed excessively with wooden glue solved in water - will take a couple of days to dry up. Fingers crossed. Got this excellent tip from @swedenslotcars on Instagram on how to attach standard Scalextric fencing in whatever way you want. I’ll share details in the next post here :)

Time attack event on Saturday with a bunch of friends :)
I’d say the base is 99% done now. Lots of little details from Slot Car Scenics to add in the coming weeks.
Quite technical track. Experimenting with with various setups for my RevoSlot Alfa. Slowly getting there.
Average lap time is about 11.5s with current lap record of 10.6.

I forgot to mention a little trick I used for the white lines. I bought a couple of those pens people use to fill out the text on their tire sidewalls. With some careful drawing I think it turned out great.
Still not sure what to do for rumble strips. Any thoughts/ideas?
