Love your track and the winter landscape. The Rallye cars from the 70s are for me an absolute favourite among cars. So elegant and funktional. My old man was a ralley driver in his 30s and among many Rallyes he made the RAC ralley in 1969 and several starts in the Swedish Ralley to the Midnight Sun, hence the winter theme really talks to me.

During the last two editions of the Slot Car Festival in Gaydon I found these two hand-painted SCX Ford Escorts with some decal bleed.
The seller told me that they came from a collection. I thought 40 and 38 GBP was a reasonable price.

The #2 is VHK 74S, driven by Björn Waldegård/Hans Thorzselius during the 1979 Rallye Monte Carlo. It is one of the three special Escorts Boreham used during the 1979 season. Spectators placed stones on the road, robbing the leading Swedes of their victory (second overall). Frenchman Bernard Darniche won the event by six seconds in a Lancia Stratos sponsored by the French Lancia importer Chardonnet.

The #1 is WTW 567S, also driven by Björn Waldegård/Hans Thorzselius. They won the 1979 Acropolis Rally in Greece with this car.
Ford and Waldegård won the WRC for makes and drivers in 1979.

Reffering to # 13 of this topic, I recently discovered a fourth version of the SCX Escort MK2 with a "dirt effect":
It's the 1976 RAC Rally winning Escort of Roger Clark and his navigator Stuart Pegg.
