Here is my pile,

but my big problem is the cars between this stage and completion, painted(or needing a repaint),decaled, but missing windows, chassis,lights,mirrors,bumpers...... .Are they eligible for this thread?

RE: 3DP body shell addiction - Kevan - 22nd-May-24

They're 3D bodyshells so don't see why not  Thumbup

RE: 3DP body shell addiction - AlexisGaitanis - 22nd-May-24

Because opening post states : All posts should feature unfinished i.e. either bare or primer shells.

RE: 3DP body shell addiction - Kevan - 22nd-May-24

I didn't worry about that with my post  Thumbup

RE: 3DP body shell addiction - JMay - 22nd-May-24

The general thrust of this thread is unfinished i.e. recently printed or wound up on the shelf, so primer or top coats shells on their tod no problem.

Daihatsu P5 for my Japanese collection.

Very thin, hopefully ok with some CA and paint.  But the mirrors came out!

Shelby Daytona

Free file from Thingieverse which needed a lot of manipulation to remove the windows and other extraneous elements. Scaled to 1/32 and I added some lip arches as the original shell arches was cut for Mini Z wheels and looked too big.

Editing the file I ran into multiple mesh error issues, which I had to keep fixing to the point where the CAD will no longer edit the file so stuck with the headlamps. May possibly take the file into Blender to remove and rebuild the headlamp recesses but it is a time consuming faff to do.

Shell shown was printed on the P1P vertically at 0.1mm layers using JAMG HE PLA+ filament with the back cut off to create a flat plane to stand it on, then glued on afterwards. Currently sitting there with filler (Revell Plasto) awaiting sanding etc.

Cheers
John

Yep, I have long thought that was a pretty thick file.
You did some good work making it quite reasonable.   Should go well with the GTO.
