Welcome to the Global Touring Car Challenge Proxy Series

There are 3 Events, and the cars will be ordered as follows
Event 1 Smaller Touring Cars
Class A (Mini type cars)
Class B (Small Saloons)

Event 2 Modern BTCC & Super Touring Cars
Class C (Super Touring Cars)
Class D (Modern BTC cars)

Event 3 Larger Touring Cars
Class E (Trans Am/ Bathurst Muscle Cars)
Class F ( DTM type cars)

The Car Listing or the Claass order in which the cars will be run
There will be a Qualifying Round on my home track to determine an initial running order of the cars within each Class

Certainly a challenge at first, this turned out to be a fabulous racing track, fast and pretty long at just over 100-feet.

Twenty-three would race on the six teams. We welcomed back Alex and Ryan from University, but were missing a few regulars through holidays and illness...

ASTCOM-One had an enforced car change after their woes last month, Simon's Chupa Chups Mercedes coming in for Alex's Audi. At AIM-9, Mike had prepared a Ferrari F430 GT, picked up from the Weevil's swap meet for a tenner. Apparently not the easiest car to work on, it looked quick and sounded a bit noisy in practice.

At seven we had a driver briefing - and a timely reminder about driving standards. Then is was the two-minute Super-Pole qualifying - the drivers taking part would be starting the race...

Help with the C7006 Chip Lighting

Imagine you haven’t used Scalextric for a lot of years, you have missed all of the discussions during those years (and are now joining them at the end or in the middle) and you are no expert with how circuit boards work – that’s me. I have both the C7042 Powerbase and ARC Pro and a soldering iron and some enthusiasm.

My questions revolve around some saloon cars with lights in my collection that have the C7006 on board. Reading through many threads, it seems that the C7006 can be used to manage the lights and that the “always on” option is available. However, it also seems that some sort of flash might be needed to the chip, but further Googling suggests that the chip cannot have its firmware upgraded. Further further Googling suggests that it can be done via InCarPro. This is confusing to me.

So here’s the questions
1. Is it possible to wire lights to the C7006? If so, do I need to flash it? If so, do I need some hardware and software? If so, where do I get those items please?
2. Would someone share clear pictures of precisely how the chip should be wired to make the lights work in the simple way that they work with the EasyFit C8515 Rev H (I recognise that these are entirely different chips and each of a different “era”).

I know I’m probably asking a lot but, as my dad used to say, if you don’t ask you don’t get ?

SCX Ford Escort RS Cosworth winner Rally Internacional de Maspalomas 1993.

Here are some photos of the SCX Ford Escort RS Cosworth with which the Spanish duo José María Ponce and Gaspar León won the Rally Internacional de Maspalomas on the Canary Islands in 1993. The striking colour combination of yellow and green makes the Escort an attractive sight.
Inside a FR42 motor only drives the rear wheels.
It is always good to hot glue the motor to the floorpan.

Thanks for adding me.

I’ve just come back to Scalextric so there’s lots to catch up on.

I’m a few years behind and am wondering if
incarpro v4.01 is still valid as an upgrade for C7042 and ARC Pro. If so, could someone point me to where I can get a copy please?

Early 60's Slot Car Proxy - 'Car Builds'

I often see on other forums, social media and Youtube channels that people love to see car builds.

This is one I started in 2020 when we had a push on Grand Prix and Prewing F1 car builds at the club.

It's not finished but will progress.

Take one cheap as chips Scalextric Lotus 25, glue it together and start grinding, building, testing, modifying, re-building, testing, modifying....etc etc

I raced it like this a few years ago, slimline motor, two part adjustable chassis (which had a tendency to 'adjust' if it hit the wall).

It's now got a one-piece chassis and a Flat 6 25k in it (that'll have to go) and a brass plate underneath.

I don't think I've raced it like this yet!, well here's an excuse to get the car finished and on the tracks.

Hi everyone,

My name is Cris and I’m from Spain.

I got into slot cars through Scalextric Spain more than 25 years ago, when I was given my first set as a kid. That was my entry point into this hobby, and since then I’ve always had a soft spot for slot racing, track building, and everything around creating layouts and racing with friends.

Over time, that interest ended up inspiring something much bigger. I’m now one of the developers behind Speed Rivals, a slot racing video game built around two main ideas: creativity and competition.

What we wanted to do was capture part of that feeling of real slot racing, but take it further in digital form. So in Speed Rivals, players can not only race, but also build their own tracks, customise layouts, decorate them, and create something with personality before driving on it.

So far, we’ve built:

a full track builder
the ability to create and edit custom circuits
decoration tools to give tracks their own style
multiple cars and different racing setups
local PvP multiplayer, including support for Steam Remote Play Together
Steam Workshop support so players can share their creations

For us, the game is not just about driving laps. It’s also about the joy of designing a circuit, testing ideas, improving them, and then competing on something you created yourself. In that sense, I think it connects very naturally with the spirit of slot racing.

I’ve just joined the forum and wanted to say hello properly. It’s great to find more communities like this one, full of people who really appreciate slot cars and track design.

SCX Fiat 131 Abarth, Rallye Monte Carlo 1979.

SCX has launched the Fiat 131 Abarth of Spaniards Salvador Servià and his navigator Álex Brustenga, who took part in the 1979 Rallye Monte Carlo.
In 1978 they achieved twelfth overall with this car.
Unfortunately a year later, they had to retire in special stage 20, laying 23rd overall.
Despite the black and white colour scheme, the Fiat looks very nice in my opinion.

Welcome to the 60's Slot Car Proxy.
After absorbing the feedback I have received I can offer the attached document for consultation, which will be then used to fix the rules for this proxy.
This period will last until 1st May.

You will note that there are 4 possible Events proposed to which you are invited to enter 3 in seperate Events
Ideally I would like to cap the entry to 10 cars per event unless any of the proposed Events does not gain sufficient support (min 7)

There are no ProCars permitted (Slot it, NSR, Thunderslot) for this proxy.

Any comments will be carefully considered and may be implimented if it fits in with the general consensus and is alighned with the intentions of the Theme.

T32 RACE REPORT – CUPCAKE RACEWAY
“Lights, Laps, and Just Enough Chaos”

Lads,
Another fine evening of racing unfolded at the legendary Cupcake Raceway, with six enthusiastic participants in attendance. Rebus remains abroad in Spain, reportedly focused on sun, scenery, and a strict training regimen involving paella and sangria. He insists he’ll return race-ready… we remain cautiously optimistic.
As tradition dictates, the evening began by breaking bread — and what a spread it was. Cupcake served up a scrumpdelicious marinated chicken with roasted potatoes and Greek salad, proving once again that his hosting skills may actually surpass his driving… on certain nights.
Well fed and mildly overconfident, the group headed to the grid.

Class 1 – Classic Stock Cars (Jack Rabbit Motors)
The evening opened with the always entertaining Classic Stock Cars, where horsepower meets questionable decision-making.
When the dust settled:
Kramer – 71 laps
Ethan – 71 laps (just over 9 seconds shy)
Cupcake – 70 laps
Followed by:

Chip – 68
Horshack – 67
Sandy – 65

A strong showing from Kramer, who looked far less confused than usual — always a promising sign.

Class 2 – Datsun 240Z (7.75 Bracket – Points)
The always dramatic Datsun 240Z class was up next, and as expected, it delivered tight racing, bold moves, and the occasional “what just happened?” moment.
Cupcake took control early and drove a clean race to the win:
Cupcake – 68 laps (+ Fast Lap: 7.961 in Green)
Horshack – 66 laps
Chip – 65 laps - using Cupcake's car as a loaner due to mechanical issues with his own in his first heat.
Then:

Sandy – 64
Ethan – 63
Kramer – 61

There were noticeably larger gaps than usual, thanks to a spike in offs in the tighter sections — proving once again that the track gives, and the track takes away.
Championship Update – Datsun
No change at the top:

Chip still leads, but
Cupcake has closed the gap to just 4 points, and is looming large in the mirrors
The gap to Ethan in third has grown slightly

This one is heating up nicely.

Class 3 – Group C (Night Race with Lights)
Then came the fan-favorite night race.
Lights off.
Track lights on.
Headlights blazing.
Depth perception… optional.
The Group C cars lit up the circuit beautifully, producing countless close duels and near-misses — some intentional, some… less so.
At the finish:
Ethan – 76 laps
Horshack – 75 laps
Cupcake – 75 laps (separated by ~3 seconds)
Followed by:

Chip
Sandy
Kramer

A thrilling race and arguably the most visually entertaining of the night.

Class 4 – Front Motor Indy (7.65 Bracket – Points)
The night wrapped up with the Front Motor Indy class, and this one delivered the closest racing of the evening.
Remarkably:
No breakouts
Three drivers within ONE second
Multiple heart rates elevated
Horshack emerged victorious in a tightly contested finish:
Horshack – 70 laps
Ethan – 69 laps
Sandy – 69 laps
Cupcake – 69 laps (all within <1 second)
Then:

Chip – 68
Kramer – 66

Precision racing at its finest.
Championship Update – Indy

Horshack’s win vaults him into 2nd place, now 3 points ahead of Chip
Ethan still leads, but only by 3 points

This title fight is officially wide open as we head into the final stretch.

Final Thoughts
Another fantastic night of:

great food
tight racing
and just enough chaos to keep things interesting

The championship battles are tightening, the excuses are evolving, and the competition is only getting fiercer as we turn into the final quarter of the season.
Thanks to everyone who came out to race, laugh, and occasionally stay on track.

Next Stop: Riverhampton in two weeks
Same drivers… slightly better driving (we hope).

Pit Boxes

Pit box

Over the years been through several iterations of pit boxes, usually some form of a plastic toolbox and for a while a Maplin 3 drawer aluminium unit, which was was discarded recently as too heavy loaded, to transport in my old age.

Currently running with this,

a grot shop £10 plastic toolbox that can take 10 or more cars, the controller, tape tools and other essential bits and weighs a lot less loaded than the Maplin unit. By adding two 3dp trays I have three levels consisting of a top tray for sundries, with the underside of the lid having a clip fit array of drivers consisting of hex, Phillips, Torq X and bladed. Next level is controller, tape and cleaner and at the bottom, the cars in old Scalex clear covers.

Hi

I have just joined the Forum after reading many posts on here for some time.
We were gifted a Scalextric track back in the 70's consisting of a oval track, Austin Healy and Mercedes 190
Many years later the track had been expanded to cover the whole of our lounge/dining area floor.
Los of fun with my brothers, dad, uncle and friends.
After leaving home the set was used by my brothers who managed to damage or lose a great deal of it.
I was re united with what was left in my mid 20s.
About 18 months ago I opened up the box which had been in storage for 35 plus years only to find most of the old classic track had gone brittle and was falling apart.
I have since purchased a few used sets including a couple of digital sets.
Having installed a wind down storage rack in my garage and temporarily covering it with some peg board and cardboard to build my first layout.
Once I have decided on a final layout I will cover the rack with plyboard and make the track permanent.
Looking forward to many hours of fun and interaction.

Attached a photo of my first layout but open to suggestions and changes.

Hello all I am new to slot cars (though I did have a scaletrix set when I was 10+) I have purchased a new set with additional track from Carrera 1/32-1/25 Digital and I have also just obtained the software SmartRace. I am now (3 months) a retired Aeronautical Engineer.
So bottom line is I don't know what I am doing in this hobby!

Now I need to replace the battery but I don't know how.
Does anyone have instruction for me? Or maybe a Pdf from the manual?

I would really appreciate some help, don't want to destroy the device
