Twenty-three of us enjoyed an excellent night of Scalextric digital racing at the Barn at the start of July. Taking the opportunity to try out our WHO digital format for the first time were Chas, Dick and Jo. For the less experienced, it was the chance of some valuable track time and loads of pit stop practice.

   

We raced on a tweaked version of one of Simon's favourites, starting the evening with digital driving school for the newbies, practice for the rest of us and then into the Nascar team race...

   

As always, the carefully seeded team gave us some close racing...

Trans Am pairs race

Oliver and Ash dominated the Trans-Am action in January and February. Could anyone get near them this time? Stephen A did double-duty, giving us twelve cars on the grid for the two qualifying heats, plus the consultation and feature races. No step-ups this time.

   

Oliver and Ash did qualify top, but Mike and Steve weren't far behind. First was the consolation race...

   

... which was won by Isaac & Kev in their Mercury Cougar, followed by Dean & Chas and Jo & Dick both in Camaros...

   

An impressive night for our three debutants.

The feature race was exciting - very close at the driver change - but Oliver and Ash made it three wins out of three...
