Global Touring Cars Slot Car Challenge Proxy 2026 - car builds

Graham, are we allowed to enter an Anglia like this one as long as the car is 52mm across the tyre walls and 8mm wide tyres?

Yes for this proxy, as long as long as it complies with the Event rules. But it may not be the case in a in future proxy based on a specific Championship if it did not compete like that in it. But this Event in the proxy is more of a generic rather than purely historic one.

My name is Bob Edwards, and I am from Virginia, USA. Over the past few years, I have been following Graham’s Proxies.  Although I narrowly missed the deadline for the Targa Florio event, I was happy to see the announcement for this Proxy and decided to participate.
One of the aspects I like about Graham’s Proxies is the variety of interesting cars available to participants. This diversity aligns with my interest in Motorsports, especially from the 1950s and 1960s.

When I learned that the MG-6 would be featured as one of the cars for this Proxy, I decided to participate.  As owner of a 1973 MGB, which I restored in the early 1990s, and a member of the local MG Car Club where I once organized a slot car event that showcased my MG slot cars and other classic British two-seaters.  For that occasion, I acquired a Scalextric MG-6 and made it available for fellow Club members to run on my home track. While the MG-6 serves as a modern representation of the brand, it does not possess the same heritage as the classic models produced at Abingdon.

This Proxy event has presented me with the opportunity to take the stock MG-6, previously only run during the Club event, and prepare it for the proxy. The process of tuning and optimizing the stock Scalextric car for this event has been both challenging and rewarding.

I would like to extend my best wishes to all participants in the event. Shown below is a photograph of my entry for Event 2, Class “B.”  I plan to ship my entry on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Many thanks for your kind words Bob, I do try to make these proxies different from the usual one car type series run by others, not that I am against them, just that I want to offer an alternative format for the proxies. The MG-6 looks good and will be interested to see how it runs against the similar cars in the Event. I used to race these Scalextric modern BTC cars at a local club and it was a very balanced group of cars without any obvious preferred model, so this grouping should be very competitive for all the cars.
Good luck.

It's mainly thanks to Graham's proxies that I realised Scalextric cars can be made to go very nicely indeed.

After buying a few between us at the club over the last 18 months, my favourites are the newer inline models which seem to run very smoothly.
