It's here  Sun

And I am very pleased, I was a little concerned it be a whooper, but actually not at all.

Compared to my Ninco version the body is 1mm wider and the rear tyre track is about the same.
It is of longer wheelbase than the Ninco.

Things I don't like
The wheels look too small and look out of place, actually smaller diameter than my Ninco Corvette.
The guide is a 8mm deep blade which will probably just be OK for my Carrera track but will be no good for Scalectric Sport track. In my opinion should have been a 7mm blade as standard or perhaps like Revoslot give both in the box ?

Now to get it out on my track.....

So a brief update on the MR Slotcar Corvette.

A quick run on my track (without magnet), the tyres are treaded so unsurprisingly it did not “rock my boat” in terms of performance out of the box. So I have trued the tyres to remove most of the tread and it runs with much better stability. Also I removed the chassis from the body in order to loosen the motor pod.

I found two issues, the body screws were very tight, so having removed them they were not relocating very easily and I did not want to put too much force on them. Also the rear trued tyres are now quite loose on the wheels.

So I tried another run as it is, with a fairly loose body fitting and with loose rear tyres.
The car was much better running stability, but probably losing performance without gluing the tyres to the wheel. And I think the body is too loose, so really I need to work on the body location screws to make them more easy to work with.
I checked the rpm on my rolling road and it is comparable with the Ninco car & Predator slimline motorised car, and yet definitely slower on the track at the moment with the issues above.

So overall it is not so easy as a RTR out the box car to get running smooth, and there is some work to do to get it running well. The small black body location screws worry me as they do not look very robust and I can see them getting lost easily when I eventually free them up, as unfortunately my track tends to gobble up such screw items.

So potentially I would be looking to replace the body screws and probably the tyres supplied fairly swiftly, probably the guide as it looks too close to the bottom of the track for comfort.

Mine has also arrived, first impressions were how narrow the track was in comparison to the body and how high the body sat over the wheels, so....... (getting ready for the criticism) I've widened the track to fit the body and..... trimmed a mill or so off the body mounting posts to get a 'racier' look.

Track time will have to wait until Thursday so I have time to true/glue the tyres, and I agree, those body mounting screws do look as if they'll disappear as soon as it does a few laps.

But in general I'd say "Bravo Ernie, you've done a good job"

A little grease on the screws and the fit is much better now, I swopped the rear wheels  with the Ninco car ones to get a better comparison. And the result is great, handles well and now getting the performance you would expect out of it.
