Honda NSX Models available
#1

Hi,

my club asked me to start work on a car body to be used in one make series for next year.  They use the Plafit A132 chassis and again looking for as boddy it can bolt straight onto.  They wanted to use the Honda NSX and in SuperGT style.  So I went on to Thingiverse, found a suitable starting model and have spent some time in coverting it.

You can find the first step of conversion here in making a slot car friendly body for the road car.

And then after some efforts, the first attempt for the SuperGT style body.  This is not an exact version of a SuperGT car, more of in the style of SuperGT :)

There will probably be changes to this as testing is done and I can lay my hands on more reference material.  It's a start.

I finished playing around with the model now and have updated the files on Thingiverse.
Files are now available with or without the support to mount the A132 chassis and either one piece or 2 piece body if you want to split the printing and join together afterwards.  This was initially done as for this year the club wanted a 1/24 scale which is too big in one piece on my printer.

We tested a 1/24 model but in practice it is too wide for the club track in real world scale.  We have now gone with 1/28 scale, and this with some printing on odd angles can be done in one piece.

Another change is in material being used.  After ABD being too brittle, and Siraya Tech Blu Nylon being too sensitive to thinners in paints, we are going to try Elegoo Tough resin.  After testing we have found it resistant so far to the thinners used in Tamiya paints, and also quite durable in the impact testing.  Not as strong as the Nylon was, but much closedr to that in performance than ABS.  Also closer in price to ABS it is easier on the pocket :)

Oh and the wing in a separate file as kinda looking at that as a consumeable....
