I have a Slot.it Ford GT40 with a Slot.it SP15C hornby digital chip installed, that refuses to record laps on lane one of my Scalextric Sport track. I am running Arc Pro and it records laps & times for Lane 2, but not Lane 1?
I also changed the guide to a Slotting Plus SP101002 with the same results. And swapped out the chip with one from another car that worked fine, but the problem persists.
Any suggestions?

Maybe the IR LED is too far back?
What is the distance between the rear of the guide blade and the position of the IR LED?

The guide blade must be black for the IR sensor to pick it up...

If you're running in digital mode and laps are counting when you go through the ARC Pro powerbase on one lane, but not the other, then - as DrC hinted at - the chip LED and sensor in that problem lane are not properly aligning. If your other cars are good, then that alignment issue is unique to the GT40.
The most common cause for that sort of problem is a powerbase situated immediately after a corner, but if the guide to LED distance is longer than usual, then a half straight or more could still be an issue on the inside lane. I looked at this problem with the Scalextric Chevy Monte Carlo here:

If this diagnosis seems about right, then one solution is to decrease the distance between the trailing edge of the guide and the LED. Another is to increase the distance between corner exit and the ARC Pro powerbase.
I hope that helps!

Thanks for your responses. The Led is 22mm behind the trailing end of the guide, so I suspect this could be the issue.
The powerbase is 70cm from the curve before it, and I have not had any issues with any of my 30 plus other digital cars so I am not thinking this the cause.
I will remount the chip so that it's Led is closer to the guide, and see if that corrects the issue.
Again thanks for all your imput.

Hi Zipp,
I think 22mm is very borderline for the ARC PRO unless you add a ‘tail’ to the guide blade or do the digital only ‘grey wire mod’.
If you are repositioning things, for the slot.it GT40 it’s probably best to add a 3mm LED on a flying lead from the decoder and drill a hole in the chassis, ideally, 10mm back from the tail edge of the guide blade. Check first that this position doesn’t foul on the front axle.

I am happy to report that by adding a Seperate Led closer to the guide has solved the problem. All laps are being counted, and the car is fully functional.

Good to read

,and that the "PBpro 2 lane analouge grey wire mod" was not needed

I believe the ‘PB pro 2 lane analog mod’ and the ‘ARC pro grey wire mod’ are completely different and serve a very different functional purpose.
Hopefully not to be confused :)
