Can anyone identify this chassis please? Photos show it 'as sourced' from a Roger Barker eBay B.I.N.
It's 1/24 scale with a Buhler 'can-drive' motor held in place with a longitudinal metal strap over the top.
The wheelbase (LENGTH folks!) is adjustable by loosening off a single screw.
The front axle is, I suspect, not original as it's running what from distant slotracing memories are Revell aluminium threaded fronts with ribbing across the width of the tyre well.
The rear axle uses grub-screwed alloy wheels with smooth wells, so finding more suitable tyres all round has been a bit of fun - but my spares box did eventually turn up something a bit better than the green fronts and 'rubber band' profile sponges on the rear.
There are no bearings as such, the rear axle being held in the chassis by screwed down caps on the upper side and the front just running captive in the plastic.
Gear ratio is 3.57 to 1. (Crown wheel is 25t, while the brass pinion has 7t.)
(I don't know that the rear running gear is original to the chassis either.)
The front runs a copper-sprung drop-arm with a non-original guide. (How do I know? The hole has been sleeved with 'something' (a wooden dowel?) - that has been bored out to take a more usual flagshaft that rides slightly nose high in the slot.
