This week we combined Scorpius and Carrera protocols as promised, using our revolutionary real-time operating system ……no apps, boot loaders, lost parameters, heart break or headaches.
This of course is a major step forward to completing our other revolutionary project we call Nitrous where you can take advantage of most of the Scorpius goodies on a Carrera native track by using our controller and a proposed dongle to maximise the wireless aspect. This however requires our new proposed Carrera dongle based of course on the MPD. This won’t happen until May I’d imagine.
Now run car on a Scorpius track, pick it up and place it on a 100% Carrera native system and race.
This part of project would have been a nightmare to build if it wasn’t for the Scorpius Real Time Operating System which allows multiple functions to be processed in parallel rather than the old hat loop system.
As you might guess, this is a very deep and complex project, but it’s what we do and we love it. Patience is a virtue.
Other progress: This week we debugged a few issues with the Scorpius protocols.
Changes to telemetry will require changes to code, so we are in discussions about that.
Board redesigns (MPD and F1) won’t be completed until after our Christmas break. Other things have taken our time.
The config program that will allow us to move wires around the board and select different functions using just firmware is 50% completed but it also will not be completed until after the holidays. It’s also complex in terms of coding.
Exhaust flame simulator LEDs arrived this week but this will have to wait until February.
Thanks go out to all our beta testers in various countries for their loyal and valuable input.
