Hi All,
Another user put me onto this forum, which I had heard of years back but forgot about.
I am a Kiwi based in NSW Australia, have been into slot cars since 2011 and have been active on Auslot & Slotforum since then.
My interests are more with the design & build of cars & tracks, rather than full on racing.
Am an avid participant of proxy racing.
Until a year ago I concentrated mostly on 1:32 scale but had an idea on how a 1:43 car could be designed and built to compete with 1:32 and am now really enjoying 1:43.
It appears that there is a growing interest worldwide in this scale.
Years ago I did dabble in 1:43 with some Kyosho cars but found even those to be little more than toy cars, beautiful models and well engineered but not easy to tune or modify.
At the moment I am organising a combined 1:32 & 1:43 proxy based on Group 5 Racing cars of the late 70's early 80's.
The twist being that entrants are encouraged to modify a car that would have qualified for Groups 1-4 of the FIA rules for that era into a fully blown Group 5 racer.
I'll post on this forum more about it but in the meantime if anyone is interested please visit the link below to find out more.

Just note that this has recently turned into an international series of 5 races, 3 in Australia, 1 in Germany & 1 in Austria.
Regards
Grant
