Yeah we have the foundations down, (big job) we slowly introduce some of the more fancier features. This is where the real fun starts.
The TX/RX port opened up a whole new list of possibilities. The wireless chip is now a combination wired/wireless chip.
Other important functions coming using the TX/RX port are:
1. Carrera dongle.
2. Digital control of a brushless motor.
3. Sound cube for track, a 8 channel surround sound system.
4. Hall sensor.
2 thoughts while typing this post.
1. Hall sensor can be used to build a Gauss meter as a magnet Marshall.
2. Create cheap wireless digital controller using the MPD. Find a suitable analogue controller.
Add magnet to trigger like a Scorpius controller.
Mount hall sensor in controller. Connect battery.
Fit OLED screen to controller.
Use Bluetooth and RF capabilities of MPD. Hopefully we can even add a knob and a button.
So there you have 2 more products
for this ever so important TX/RX port. A magnet marshal and a home made controller project kit.
The only way this could work is for the chip to stop receiving controller data, transmit a request to race software on a specific channel, wait for x mSec to receive a response and then revert to receiving. Now the chip already transmits car data on channel 25 so this could be used to trigger the request. All OLED channel requests could be on channel 28 or create 24 more channels just for this purpose.

After a chat with John the MPD can indeed be the basis of a controller using the hall sensor however there is no possibility of a screen, knobs or buttons as well.
Having said that everything could be configured by an app.
Food for thought.
So the MPD can be a dongle, car chip, light board, lane change board, analogue lap counter, motor analyser, magnet Marshall, brushless motor controller, OLED screen controller, surround sound controller, and now a basic (but still very capable) throttle controller.
It really is the Multi Purpose Decoder
Work continues.
