We've finally tracked down the pen & paper race sheets from June - Mike did give them to me, but probably a bit too soon after my op for me to remember anything.
The super pole saw another great performance by Ollie...
Three out of four poles is a brilliant achievement from the youngster.
However, things then get a little controversial. Our WHO GT Championship format clearly states...
Quote:● Teams are Pro-Am - meaning that each team must have at least one Bronze-rated driver.
If there aren't enough Bronze drivers available, a Silver-Silver pairing may be permitted (and has been in the past). Ultimately it is the responsibility of the team captain to ensure the legality of the car and the team line-up. However, it appears that the team line-ups were discussed with the race control team and accepted - although in hindsight, this was an error made on a hectic day in unfamiliar circumstances.
The results as they stand are...
The winning team was a Gold-Silver pairing. And that win clinched the championship...
These results and championship table are published pending appeal by any of the other team captains. If no appeal is lodged in the next 30 days, then the result will be confirmed. Any appeal made within the next 30 days will be considered by the WHO Digital crew - Andy, Mike D and Simon. In this case, it is unlikely any meaningful changes to the result will be made. However, it is important that we acknowledge that an error was made in June and remind ourselves that six Pro-Am line-ups should compete where at all possible.
Although the main focus of our club is having fun, we aim to keep the competition as fair and exciting as possible. That's why we have rules. Any unfair advantage can damage that fun. There were some superb performances by several teams over the four races, which is why June's team line-up mix-up was a less than perfect ending.
