It's disappointing that cars obviously not compliant with the rules before the proxy started are now being modified after 2 rounds of the proxy.
Life is like a box of Slot cars...

These cars have been subject to penalties, but common sense dictates that we should avoid issues further on with controller damage.
And the alteration or motor height adjustment should not be to the cars advantage.
In one case we have found that the motor mount support adaptor was missing, which has now been replaced. And the other car the motor mount support adaptor was the incorrect way up. So both these issues have been resolved.
We are now checking to see if the cars are now compliant to the rules, if they are not they will still be subject to the Round penalties.

Phil has just checked the clearance on the cars he looked at fixing.
Harrison's Racers Toyota Supra remains inside the spec but only just, so will continue without penalties.
But at least the motor is now flush with the pod and less likely to cause an issue with bottoming out.
Scott Sports Marcos still does not meet the specification, so will continue to have the penalties for each Round.
However the motor is now more firmly fixed in position, so also maybe less likely to bottom out.
BARacer Mclaren also still does not meet the specification and nothing could be done to improve it as the motor is fixed into a 1.0mm offset motor mount with quite small wheels. So this car will also continue to be subject to the penalties for each Round.
I will issue a warning to the other hosts that if any of these 3 cars is thought to cause a running problem they can retire it for their Round.

I take full responsibility for sending in a car that didn't meet the ride height rule. The Mclaren was a last minute job and I had to swap in the motor pod with the flat 6 motor in it and did not think ride height would be an issue.
For the record, it's a 1mm offset slot.it pod, and the wheels are the largest Staffs hubs, 16.9mm, so I don't want anyone to think it's some sort of extreme spec build.
I love puttering with gears

That's fair enough, I was just relaying the information Phil gave to me who thought it was a 1.0mm offset chassis with 15.8mm diam wheels, but I guess he got it wrong.
I corrected myself about the offset dimensions, I just checked his message, but it was only meant to be factual not critical.

The next stop is the Mountain View track of Paul C, in total contrast to the Wye Valley Club, this is a short home based Policar track.
The Round will take place between the 6th and 18th April, Paul will advise us when it can take place.
Schedule update

(And has someone got the missing rear spoiler off my Mclaren? That's why it's lacking grip Phil)
Your Mclaren rear wing is safe, I will suggest it goes into the spares bag for the rest of the journey.

Good News I got a chance to race some cars around tonight. The Blue cars or the BMW M1 Club.
All well tuned and quick some obviously quicker than others, a joy to drive… respect to all the entrants for this class.
