So my expectation is that they will transfer the cars on Monday to the local Depot nearest to the the host, and then deliver them on Monday.

Which all means that the scheduled run over the weekend will not be able to take place. However I been able to keep Phil F at Wye Valley advised and he is looking at running it later next week if he can.

I’m sorry, but this type of stress is not needed.  Graham, you fixed the issue with the tracking device.  Genius BTW and Kevan is using a different shipping company… give it time not stress, this is why I’m down to 1 entry going forward, the stress. Keep us informed yes, holy smokes. On a side note, the one car will be better prepared so Kevan can take a break from maintenance.

Graham organises the shipping company, I just got the box ready and stuck the label on that Graham sent.

On the other thing, I don't mind the maintenance  Cool

would having the IOM round as the last round of the proxy be an idea for the future ?
any disruptions with the carriers would then not affect the running of the proxy schedule
only the return of the cars , that's if a delay was going to happen again
just a thought ,

To put things into perspective we did have 2 weeks to get the cars to the next host, but the host in question was moving house during that first week. So actually it was a combination of factors. Otherwise in effect the cars would have reached the destination in time for the scheduled date.

To be honest the fact that the parcel was still handled by MIC still gives me the “stress” that Brumos mentioned. So next time I might think again about who transports the cars across to the IofM.
Today I did look at ParcelForce who used to be significantly more expensive, but now looking much more competitive and offering the same type of service now, which they didn’t before.

I didn’t mean to upset the Apple cart but, yea last year stressed me and to see the post created a nervous tick this time as I have not had issues in 11years of proxy racing after lurking for 4 years expecting the worst.  So very sorry if I created stress, I always give it time.   Btw Jim has the LeMans cars and will be taking the bodies off to do a reveal on YouTube before shipping them back to me.

I am feeling quite  Cool now. The tracker is very good tool in keeping me informed,  so baring any unrelated  issues happening I think we are in for a great proxy series.
Car issues can happen at any time and to anyone, so I don’t have any great control on that.

The “reveal” is always interesting, but I have yet to see the “magic dust” inside the car which makes it the winner

So far during the last two car previews I predicted Mountains Views Scaley Astra to be a 'dark horse' and in this proxy Ade's Porsche to be one for the rest to catch...after driving them both I was right.

I think this proxy will turn out much closer than the last one as there's a wider selection of really good cars.

As far as 'magic dust' I don't think you were referring to what covered the inside of the Brumos BMW gearbox Bigsmile

Parcelforce would seem to be the cream of the crop shipping a large box to/from the IoM, this was mentioned before the last proxy.  Couriers don't drive on the boat then distribute round here, that wouldn't be cost effective at all so they use an 'agent' and MIC is the largest on the IoM.

With the week delay shipping the box it may have added a tinge of stress but nowt to really fret over.  We have bad weather, boats get cancelled, **it happens but no repeat of the DPD palaver this time.
