Round 8 - Edmonton

Another round where I improved on my qualifying position in the actual race by six or so places. It comes with building a car that lacks a turn of speed to qualify well, but which can knock out steady laps come the event. Good to see OXO Kev qualifying and finishing better than recent rounds.
Two rounds to go.

Not too bad qualifying time for me, but OXO and I both hoped for better race results.

OXO's car loves this track, mine doesn't! Not good when this is the track that gas been used for the pre-qualification Shoot Out since they were introduced.

Final Champuonship Table
I've got to be pleased with 17th place after scraping through in mid 20th position. OXO Cube and myself have formed a loose alliance to pool our knowledge and strategies for next years event. Basically you have to try and eliminate any weaknesses in the spec or build of your car if you want to avoid the yo-yoing of results across the various tracks. The final top 10 were basically the top 10 in most of the rounds...that's the sweet spot we are aiming for.

I was thinking the same...but you'll need tyres that have been out of production for years...14mm Supergrips (original Ultras that is) to scare the final podium positions.

I finished 11th, 4th, 11th and 20th on 17MM 20X10 Supergrips. Lesson learned, if you run the same car 3 out of 4 years, tires are good for 2 seasons. The C6 which finished 11th last year, would’ve been a better car to run after figuring out what I needed for body float. I found 3/10ths it received an offer I couldn’t refuse. Start working on your car now. You have already seen and raced the prototype of my car for the GT3.
