I just had a quick look at my car preview, I'd loosen the pod a bit and get rid of the flop in the front axle.

We still have 240 days until that first WHO Slot Rally event... plenty of time to plan and decide on cars!

My initial thoughts are 3 x Ninco - Porsche 911SC, Lancia 037 and Subaru Impreza. That's probably what I'll be taking to the Slot Rally GB events…

Each of our club events are just four days before Slot Rally GB rounds (Abergavenny and Farnborough) - perfectly timed to prepare those Slot Rally GB cars. You can see all the WHO and Slot Rally GB dates on the SlotRacer Calendar: https://slotracer.online/community/calendar.php

Whilst my wife is away for the weekend, it's testing time for my rally cars. Having reviewed the feedback on my cars from the recent Proxy Rally that Graham ran, and done the necessary fettling, it was an opportunity to see how they ran on the track...

It’s six months to our first event and things are gradually coming together…

  • Three Ninco cars on the WHO SwapShop table last Saturday got snapped up in no time! We’ll try and get more for December - plus encourage the vendors at Jean’s Swapmeet on the 23rd to bring rally models with them.
  • Gaugemaster have donated a pair of SCX Renault 5 Turbos to use as club cars on one of the stages. That stage will be branded with Gaugemaster and SCX logos. Other manufacturers have been approached to offer something similar.
  • In terms of stage timing, I got hold of a Ninco NScorer recently. This seems to be the weapon of choice for Slot Rally, so I’ll keep an eye out for more. There’s also the option of using phone apps and a PC with Race Coordinator on at least one stage.
  • The list of possible stages is getting longer. We’re aiming for 4-5 at the Wednesday club nights and 8 at the Rally GB Saturday. Scenics and branding are in progress…
