Indeed, but the Bosch router was rated as one of the best available at the time and I made doors and windows professionally with it for ten years out here. However, it is no longer good enough for even light work as wear to the bearings have made it too inaccurate.
I even had to use the Ryobi for cutting slots accurately! It doesn't have the grunt to run big cutters though.
All my saws and drills are Makita but I object to having to replace a 'pro' tool just for a couple of domestic jobs. There are a few that I use seldom that may survive the cull. I prefer to use a hand plane for accuracy so I doubt I will replace the (broken) power planer. I no longer have a planer/thicknesser in the workshop so it's mostly hand work these days.

cool car
I think it only ran in one or two races.
This is a model I made up from a resin body by John Warren - I think the originator was a chap named Charles Lawrence from the US.

Great to see, thanks! That car looks extremely well done.
As I said, I was not aware of any slot models of this car, but, of course, there is nothing new under the sun.
If I had known, I don't think it would have stopped me... For me, half of the fun is trying to make my own!
Nice color too! May I ask what paint you used, if and when I ever get so far? I have been looking at Tamiya TS-19.
Cheers

Hi Carver
One day I might have a go at carving a car if I did I would do a 1/24 AC A98 coupe. For now I am just in awe of your skills.
I used Zeropaints
ZP-1433 Chevy Corvette Stingray Nassau Blue
Here is a closer look at the car :) I made the decals myself.
cheers
David

Further on.
Next will be to get a chassis, or at least a mock-up with wheels, to be able to decide on the wheel arches.
And to see if it looks as long, low, and sweeping as it should be!
There is still a lot to sort out.
Thanks for looking
Carver

This did originate with Charles Lawrence in Seattle. He then had Martin Field work up a master and then it went on to an English (well known) caster who declared it uncastable due to the details not turning out very well. The master sat around for twelve months or more before arriving on my bench.
I still have the moulds and seem to remember doing a couple of very successful (all details turning out well) production runs of ten or so kits.
A pity the real car wasnt more successful.
Carry on Ralph....it is going to be a beauty.
