Thanks for taking us through it Andy Thumbup
But you've missed out or maybe you're waiting on the pictures of the Duffy Collard National Hot Rod Wrench , splendid choice / decision from Scalextric for any Oval racing fans this is a 'main stream' producer 1st I think. (in 30-40years)
Endless much loved liveries to fall back on too, fingers crossed for some deep dished white steel wheels effect.
I'm seeing six on a digital Oval.

What a splendid presentation, Andy! Well done. Thumbup

The buildings are great and I like Scalextric's choice of the TWR Rover Vitesse / SD1.
Now I almost certainly hope in vain for a Tony Pond rally version. Sun
It would be nice if the slot car would look better than the one in the left photo, with the front section not well shaped compared to the real car in the right photo.
It looks like it is made by the same team that did the Jaguar XJ-S. Both cars aren't bad, but out of shape in some areas
You wouldn't expect that in the age of 3D technology.

Thanks chaps - it was great fun as ever Drinkingcheers

GOGS - There's always something that slips through the net! I think it'll be this Castrol livery...

... but I need to check - and I didn't so I forgot to post it. It is a wonderful tribute to a legend of UK short track oval racing...

For those who might not know, Mick 'Duffy' Collard was British, European and World Hot Rod champion. He passed his racing genes on to son Rob and grandson Ricky - both of whom are pretty decent racers in their own right. Not legends though. Here's Duffy winning the world championship at Ipswich in 1980...

I'll see if I can get confirmation of the livery for you tomorrow.

One car I have just got some artwork for which isn't on the website (yet) is the Andretti Racing Formula-E model...

Looks very nice. I'm going to review one of the 2021 Scalextric Formula-E cars on SlotRacer soon.

BARacer - I'm also scratching my head about that second mystery car...

Brilliant stuff Andy Thumbup  As I've said before,  you do the Hornby Scalextric releases better than Hornby do!

For me, some really interesting new releases.

They clearly seem to be on the right track with the Historic Motor Sport/ retro models.  Great for me, as this is the type of Motor Sport I follow and attend.    The Rover Vitesse was no surprise,  and fits perfectly with the recent Capri and Jaguar XJS cars.
The Mustang and Cobra are perfect editions,  wasn't expecting either of those.....
Love the 1275 GT, and the Mini Miglia is a superb choice,  as long it performs better than the current Mini Cooper S Historic car ( magnet out, obviously! ).  Much wider tyres hopefully......

The Blue Brothers Dodge looks really cool, still love that film.   But my favourite will definitely be the #19 Mick " Duffy" Collard Mk2 Escort Hot Rod.   I raced Stock Cars for 14 years, and met Mick, and Rob,  a few times over the years,  what a character.  Sometimes rather forceful in getting to the front, but on the shale at Wimbledon,  or the old Aldershot (HQ), simply brilliant.  Let's hope it sells in decent enough quantities so we get #351 Barry Lee, #306 George Polley, #242 Pete Stevens etc..    A truly amazing time for Hot Rod racing.  The Big 3, as they were known,  could almost sell out a stadium the size of Wimbledon on their own.

Not many new GT3 cars to add  to our Scalextric GT CUP class ( staple class at our club), but love that new GT3 spec Porsche, so many  great and varied liveries to choose from, from all over the racing world.

I sort of thought that at £50 per car I'd be buying less new releases this year,  but I'm already looking at 12.
Oh well, it's only 1 per month,  and I can always sell a few to make way.......

Great stuff Andy, and a big well done to all at Hornby for such a good looking 2022 release schedule.  Checkeredflag

Excellent report as always Andy - well done. Thumbup

Bluesmobile the only must have for me, pre-ordered it this afternoon so I can get the band together again. Kinda wish they hadn't bothered with the loudspeaker though or made it removable. It only appears  somewhat briefly in the film and the police chases were with the unadorned car. Now where can I find 70 Chicago cop cars to wreck? Bigsmile

Wow, big report, thanks for all the work Andy.

The movies/tv stuff doesn't float my boat, but I will be after the Rover touring car, and maybe the Mustang if they get the Alan Mann colours right this time.

The Countach would be nice in racing colours but Simon already said on the other forum they wont be doing the yellow ART/Rain-X version that I love, but maybe a pink donut one, that I don't fancy at all :/

I might have gone for the bluesmobile if it werent for that speaker, and looks like they could have done better with the paint and markings.
They need a scalextric sign off person as particular for cars as their railway guy is. ;)

That reminds me, maybe I should watch the blues brothers film, I don't think I have seen it ever.
