NASCAR Trucks
#1

Hi all, this officially marks the start of project NASCAR Trucks.
It will be a major undertaking for someone with my limited abilities, so it will be slow ... heck it might not even reach an end  Time

I have obtained these as a basis to start:

They are Ford F150's and from what I can tell looking at the top of the grill level with the top of the lights, I believe these are the 2012 model ?
These are actually 1/35th, but as I am not going for an accurate model, more of a passable imitation of that years NASCAR Trucks that's not an issue.

My current idea for the build, is to chop off the extended cab, re-attatch the rear window section extend the bed to around 1/32 scale nascar length.
Then I want to split the body and widen it to 1/32 scale nascar width.
Next, chop off the sides below the window line, and replace with a flatter side to replicate the nascar bodies.
Then add front spoiler, bed cover etc to complete the look.

How much of that is achievable by yours truly is anyone's guess, but that is what I hope to achieve.
Oh and the bodies as they stand weigh in at 41g, I would like to get that to under 30 but with all the work required they may even end up heavier  Sweating
I know I will be chopping stuff off, but I will also be adding stuff, so who knows what it will weigh !

If any you guys can A) clarify the model year, and B) post any pics of the same model year nascar trucks you can find here as a reference to help me, that would be fantastic  Thumbup

Stage one, happy to say it appears the plastic is similar to model kits as the modeling cement does a good job  Sun
