The soft Olifer 3D chassis aids the car going hard in and out of the corner. Combined with the body roll / pod movement that car was glued in the corners. Welcome to the fun and crazy world of tuning a race car! Try all tricks up your sleeve no matter how far fetched for any race car you build. There's a couple things I do that are so far fetched I won't even embarrass myself and discuss!

Doesn't that go against all perceived wisdom for wood track car preparation?
Black arrow collared Torx body screws. Very wise.
Lightweight body, lightweight screens.
Still a lot more ballast than I would add.
SI-Mx16 motor, very soft and forgiving but enough power if you get a good one.
Chassis softness and pod movement: it's only " too soft " if the car is so stuck down that it roll-Deslots, shudders-under-acceleration or is so well stuck down that you can't read when the car is close to its limit (so every "off" is an unexpected and unwecome surprise)
Of all of the cars in this year's proxy, this is the closest to the way I would build a car for this event.
However, I won't be winding my own power cables

From the organisers tech sheet, it was an mx-17 29k motor in Heli_ca's car.
Maybe it was an older motor with a red end rather than the current white one.
I love puttering with gears

All the cars have now been mailed back to the owners. The winning team received their medals, congratulations to Team Canada. The podium have each received a trophy for their GT3 results. See you all next year...bring your "A" game....this is so stressful but fun!!!
Thanks to woodcote, each participant will receive a SlotRacer Online Proxy Racing sticker.

However...
When you look at the 'rpm at the wheel at 12v' column on the tech sheet, it suggests that the motor is closer to a 23k version rather than 29k...
