SCX new releases for 2021
#1

SCX have been late to the party with any announcements of their 2021 releases... I was starting to get worried. Although the official announcements are likely to come over the weekend, we do have a few snippets to report, thanks to Gary at MRE.

The first - and most exciting - is a brand new model of one of the latest crop of WRC cars...

SCX-U10387 Hyundai 120 WRC - Dani Sordo. RRP £42.95. Due September 2021.

Rumour has it, there may be another WRC model to go with the Hyundai.

Otherwise, it looks at if SCX are dusting off their old tooling to put some classic bodies on new chassis and mechanicals...

[Image: spacer.gif]SCX-U10393 Escort Cosworth Monster - Ken Block. RRP £42.95. Due May 2021.

SCX-U10392 Toyota Celica ST-165 - winner Safari Rally 1990 - Björn Waldegård. RRP £42.95. Due September 2021.

That's already three on my list... And MRE already have them on pre-order here.

We'll bring you more news about the entire SCX range - Original analogue, Advance digital and 1/43 scale Compact - when we have it.

That is good news. Rofl
Rally fans have been waiting for a new WRC car for years.
Ken Block's Escort is not what I prefer.
In my opinion a real 90's Escort Cossy would have been better.

Personally I am delighted to see these offerings from SCX. The disappointing lack of rallying offers from Scalextric this year was only partly offset by the team slot and avant slot offerings so I’m delighted to see a mainstream return to the WRC! Thank you SCX ??

You're right. The range of rally cars was very limited and it's good to see SCX back. Rally fans had to be patient for years.
For me, the SRC Lancia Delta S4 was a highlight last year.

There's been more pictures of the 1/43 scale SCX Compact F1 cars this week...

That's an attractive pair, particularly for the Spanish market - a red Ferrari-ish car and a pretty fine Alpine livery, just without the Alpine logos.

Although not entirely clear from the SCX social media posts (or the stock lists), it seems both cars will also be available individually - perfect for running on any 1/43 or 1/32 scale track. The SCX Compact cars have traditional 'flag' guides.

This message came from SCX yesterday...

And followed by an email today, which - roughly translated - says...

Quote:Dear Scalextristas

We inform you that, due to external problems that are beyond the control of SCX, the release dates of many of the novelties of this 2021 are being affected.

From SCX we are working to solve this situation and launch the news as soon as possible.

We greatly appreciate your understanding and regret any inconvenience it may have caused you.

Please, if you are waiting for a specific article, write an email to hello@scx.es indicating the article you are waiting for and we will notify you as soon as it is available. Thanks!

Certainly all companies relying on global manufacturing supply chains are having major difficulties at the moment. Hopefully that's the issue with SCX - and the products announced for 2021 will all arrive in due course.
