My wife felt that we needed to take a break and unplug from the daily grind. She felt I was depressed so she rented a cottage for a week and told me I was allowed to bring as much paint and bodies as I wanted. That was a dangerous thing to say. Lookout!!!
I started with only a few.
Then a few more.
18 bodies eventually got painted in two days. That allowed at least 4 days to fully dry before packing up for the 3-hour drive home.
The paint for these cars has been long overdue. About half the bodies are slated as drag racers. Cowabunga dude!

Nice beetle. It looks better than the Faller AMS car from the 1960s.

I bought a few cars at a slot car flea market recently. I usually try and get there early to look through the good stuff before it's gone. Aurora HO is usually the priority. I came back with these oldie moldies. The saddest of the lot is the paint by brush Lola GT. It didn't run at the time of this pic.
I took the Lola body off the chassis and the glass fell out. There are hints of red inside the body. I had no idea what colour it was when I bought it.
The old chassis.
The body soaked in Super Clean degreaser for exactly 8-hours. More than that and the factory stripe would have also been gone.
The chassis was completely rebuilt. The Christmas tree armature still works great. Body and chassis are ready to go together again.
Thank you very kindly for looking.
