HRW Championship GT3 Proxy 2022 Event Potential Entry

If axle bushings can be self-aligning, they can be self-mis-aligning, and the aim here is to reduce friction or the risk of binding as far as possible. So off with the self-aligning bushing claws...

...and on with the push fit (and to be glued later) oilite bushings...

This was just a first dry fit test. A bit more rubbing down of the pod required to smooth off the last remnants of the claws.

An hour of running a drill through the bushing holes using my fingers seems to have got them lined up properly, as the axle now runs cleanly in the bushings when I push them in place.

Just arrived in the post from Shapeways...

Aligns perfectly with the body I will be running, but it will need a bit of fettling to get the Scaleauto pod to fit cleanly.

I will be joining up again with the series next season. Glad to see you making a run at it!

The tech threads that go along with the racing are some of the best on the internet, and it makes it really fun.
